Chapter 37

I walked back into the club toward Nick who was talking to one of the bouncers. I looked around for Mike, but I didnt see him. Nick had a black eye and I sighed before approaching him.
What happened?
What the fuck does it look like? Nick asked pointing to his eye.
Dude, this has gotta stop.
Aaron, Mike and I are through. Nick gritted.
Where is he?
I dont know and I really dont care. Nick said starting for the door. I followed him, but then I remembered Erica.
Nick, wait. Im going to check on Erica.
She can find her own way back.
I told Mac Id bring her back with me.
Youre pussy-whipped already? Nick asked and I shot him a glare.

I walked toward the bathrooms and saw Mike leaning against the ladies room door.
There you are. Whats up? I asked and then I noticed his bloody lip.
Erica wont come out. He sighed.
You know Im tired of all this shit. You owe Nick an apology for the way youve been treating him.
What!? Mike yelled.
Mike this isnt your fight. Its between Erica and Nick. Why are you ruining a friendship over some bitch whos messing with your head? I asked.

Just then the bathroom door opened and Erica stepped out. It looked like she had been crying for hours. She looked at me like she wanted to kill me, but looked over at Mike instead.
Stay out of my life. She snarled at him before storming off. Mike looked over at me and shook his head.
Real good there Aaron.
Come on, lets go back to the hotel. I said going to pull his arm, but he pulled back from me.
No, I cant be around any of you right now. Mike said walking away. Just great.

I walked out of the club and Nick was in the van with Richard trying to coax Erica to come in.
Erica, just get in. Nick sighed.
No! Just leave me alone. She cried. I knew she had been drinking tonight, but I think she sobered up now.
Aaron, can you help here? Nick asked.
Erica I said stepping toward her.
Stay away from me. Ill find my own way back. She said hugging herself.
Come on, Mac will be worried about you. Erica just laughed.
All Mac cares about is if poor Trista is okay and I didnt screw anything up between her and Nick.
Thats not true Erica. Mac cares about you. I told her Id take you back with me, so come on.
You think Im a heartless bitch and now youre going to be all nice to me? Erica asked. I sighed.
Oh I seeif I go with you then maybe Mac will give you head tonight right? She asked. I gritted my teeth.
What the fuck are you talking about!?
Dont think I dont see Aaron. I see the way you two look at each other and its really sickening! Erica said before bending over and throwing up. Were we really that sickening?

Nick got out of the car and once Erica was finished we picked her up and put her in the van before taking off for the hotel. No one said anything on the way back. Once we got to the hotel, I helped Erica out of the car and Nick walked ahead of us. When we got to our floor, I walked Erica to her door and knocked. A few minutes later, Mackenzie opened it and smiled at me slightly. Trista was sitting on the bed not looking too happy.
"We all need to talk." Mac sighed. I nodded.
"Mac, I just need to lay down." Erica said stumbling into the room and laying on her bed.
"I'm not staying in here with her." Trista said standing up and walking out.
"Trista, where are you going to go?" Mac asked.
"To sleep in your bed." She sighed and kept walking until she saw Nick.

"Trista, I'm so sorry." Nick apologized. She just turned away from him.
"Can we at least talk about this?"
"I have nothing to say to you."
"Well, I have a lot to say." Nick sighed. Trista gave in and they went into mine and Nick's room. Mike walked by and didn't even say anything before going into his room. This just sucks.

"Trista's mad at me." I sighed. "Why is she mad at you? Erica is the one who tried to screw her over." Aaron said.
"Because I didn't tell her about Erica and Nick on the tour bus."
"She'll get over it."
"I hope so." I said.
"What's wrong with Erica?" Aaron asked disgusted.
"She was being spiteful."
"Yeah, well she made a comment about me and you tonight." Aaron groaned.

"A comment?" I wondered.
"Saying she sees the way we look at each other and it sickens her or some crap."
"Whatever. She never was supportive of our friendship." I sighed.
"Why?" Aaron asked.
"Who knows?" I shrugged.
"Do you think Trista will forgive Nick?"
"Not for a long time."
"That sucks. I kind of like them together." Aaron smiled.
"Me too."

Just then, Keely came out of our room smiling. I think that's the first smile I've seen all night.
"Did you guys have fun?" She asked. Aaron and I just looked at each other.
"It was an experience." I said.
"Where are you going anyway?" Aaron asked since Keely had make-up on and ready to go out and it was almost two am. Keely grinned.
"Shane's in the lobby."
"What?" Aaron and I both asked.
"He surprised me." She giggled skipping off to the elevator.
"She's got it bad." I laughed.
"What?" Aaron asked.
"She's falling in love."
"Keely? No way."
"I'm one of her best friends. I can tell."
"But she was so set on commitment free, like me." Aaron said.
"Well, maybe she's tired of it." I said walking toward my room. Aaron followed me and I opened my door before looking at him.

"Can I help you?" I asked and he grinned.
"I have nowhere to sleep." He pouted.
"Your room?" I questioned.
"Trista and Nick are in there."
"So take Trista's bed." I said stepping into my room, smiling to myself.
"Mac...I don't have a key." Aaron said coming up with another excuse from outside the room. I popped my head out and smiled at Aaron.
"If you want to sleep with me, why don't you just ask me?" Aaron raised an eyebrow.
"Can I sleep with you?" He asked smirking. I moved closer to him and stared into his eyes.
"No." I grinned and went to turn around.

"Mac!" Aaron whined.
"Okay, come on. We're just sleeping. Got it?" I asked.
"Just sleeping?" Aaron asked. I smiled and bit my lower lip.
"Maybe." I said allowing Aaron into the room before I closed the door and locked it. I pulled down the bed as Aaron kicked off his shoes and socks. He took off his shirt and I couldn't help but just stare at him. Aaron crawled onto the bed as I sat down.

A tingly sensation ran throughout my body before I reached my arms out and unbuttoned his pants, which I think surprised him.
"What? You can't sleep in jeans now, can you?" I asked with a blush.
"No and you can't sleep with this on..." Aaron said tugging at the bottom of my pajama top. I laughed and pushed his hands away.
"Take your pants off and get under the blankets." I said getting under the blanket myself. Aaron stood up and removed his pants before laying next to me under the covers. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer and closer, until I was pressed against him. We just looked into each other's eyes for a few minutes, unable to look anywhere else.

As if we were thinking the same things, we both moved in for a kiss, which slowly deepened, arousing us both. My hands quickly found Aaron's butt as his hands felt around underneath my shirt. I don't know how long we laid there like that, just touching and kissing and getting to know each other's body before we heard a key turn in the door. I buttoned up my pajama top since Aaron had pretty much ridded me of it and he straightened his boxers and made sure the blanket covered us thoroughly before we both pretended to be asleep.

Chapter 38

I woke up the next morning with a smile on my face, despite the drama that went on last night. I felt arms holding me securely and I grinned even more loving the feeling of having someone next to me. I looked over toward Keely's bed and saw Shane's hair sticking out from under the blanket.
"Ahem." I heard and saw Keely standing at the foot of my bed.
"Morning." I whispered.
"You have some explaining to do." She said with one hand on her hip and Aaron's pants in the other. Oops.

"Keely, let me sleep now. We'll talk later." I groaned pulling the blanket over my head.
"Mackenzie!" She loudly whispered.
"You're going to wake Aaron and Shane up." I warned.
"Well, get your butt in the hallway so we can talk about this." Keely ordered. I reluctantly slid out of bed, careful not to wake Aaron. We walked into the hallway and I waited for Keely to speak.

"You lied to me."
"Keely, I didn't lie to you."
"You said you and Aaron were just friends."
"We are!" I shouted.
"Mackenzie, sleeping in the same bed, half naked is hardly what I'd call just friends." Keely pointed out.
"Look, we're having fun. What's so wrong with that?" I shrugged.
"Fun? This isn't who you are and you know that. You're not some groupie slut Aaron takes back to his hotel room." Keely said folding her arms.
"We're not having sex."
"Not yet, right?" Keely asked, knowingly.
"I don't know what my intentions are. I'm going with what I feel." I explained.
"What you feel? You feel like being used?"
"I'm not being used!"

"Mackenzie..."
"Keely...look, how come when you did it, it was perfectly acceptable?" I asked.
"We view things differently. You and I have a different outlook on sex."
"So you can be easy and I can't?" I asked, not trying to offend her. She groaned.
"What I did with Aaron was living out a fantasy for me. I just don't go around sleeping with everyone."
"Oh and I do?" I asked.
"Mac, I mean why are you doing this?"
"I want to."
"You're tired of being a virgin right? So now you're going to put that pressure on Aaron? Does it really matter who it is to you?" Keely shot at me and the questions upset me.
"Keely, I am twenty-two years old and I'm not trying to put any pressure on Aaron. We're not even thinking about sex yet. Well, at least I'm not. And yes, it matters. What do you take me for?" I asked.

"Why Aaron?"
"I feel comfortable with him. He makes me feel pretty." I said looking down.
"Mackenzie, if Jane finds out you are so dead."
"I know." I said softly.
"You're risking everything." She said and I nodded.
"I need him right now."
"Just don't let that turn into forever." Keely said before walking back into our room. I let her words replay in my head for a few minutes before I decided to go check on Erica.

I knocked on the door and I was surprised when Mike answered.
"Hi."
"Hey." Mike said.
"Is Erica okay?"
"She's in the bathroom." I nodded.
"I'm sorry about last night." Mike began.
"I'm not the one you need to apologize to."

Erica came out of the bathroom and I asked to speak to her alone. Mike left and Erica lay on the bed as I sat next to her.
"Ric, are you okay?" I asked.
"I'm a horrible person Mac." She cried.
"No you aren't. You just made a few mistakes."
"Yeah and they're costing me big time. I just...a part of me wanted to ruin Nick and Trista so much. Put that need together with alcohol and I lost it." Erica sighed. I rubbed her arm and nodded.
"And Mike. I don't know what to do about him. I'm not even sure how I feel about him that way."
"Erica, you can't make yourself fall for someone. Just explain to him how you feel."

"Trista hates me, doesn't she?"
"Hate is a strong word. Besides, I wouldn't know since she's not talking to me." I sighed.
"I think I owe Aaron an apology." Erica said.
"What did you say to him last night?" I wondered.
"I was pretty mean to him and I said some things about you two." She said looking down.
"Why don't you like us being friends?" I asked, finally.
"It's not that. I just...Mackenzie, you're crazy about each other."
"We're what?" I asked with a laugh.
"He's only seventeen. It just wouldn't work and I'd hate for you to get hurt. Plus, Aaron's a little player." Erica sighed. I took a deep breath.
"We're not in love. We have fun. A serious relationship with each other is something neither of us have ever thought about, so don't worry." I smiled. Erica just nodded.

After talking to Erica a little longer, I went back to my room and Aaron was gone. Keely and Shane were watching TV and I decided to handle some business while I could. I talked to Westlife's manager and they join the tour tomorrow. When I started planning this tour, I never imagined business would be the easy part and my friendships would be the hardest part.

When I woke up, Shane and Keely were talking quietly in her bed. I grabbed my pants from the floor and slid them on under the blanket.
Hey Aaron. Shane smiled and Keely just gave me a knowing look.
Hey Shane. I said sliding off the bed.
Wheres Mac? I asked.
I dont know. Keely answered. I walked toward my room and ran into Mike.
Aaron, I want apologize for last night.
Its okay. Were cool.
Thanks. Mike replied.
You going to make up with Nick?
Im going to try. Mike sighed before patting my back and walking away. I opened my door to see Trista sleeping in my bed. I heard the shower running and I plopped on Nicks unmade bed and just lay there until he got out of the bathroom.

Nick jumped when he saw me.
Dude, you scared the shit out of me.
What happened last night? I asked. Nick sighed and sat down next to me.
Shes not giving in this time.
What do you mean?
Were just friends. Nick said sadly and for the first time in a long time, I saw something different in Nicks face. Mackenzie would probably call it love. Maybe it was, but Nick hasnt claimed to be in love for a long time so I wasnt going to even to ask right now.
Im sorry dude. I said patting his back.
I screwed up.
Yeah, you did. I agreed. Nick pushed me a little as I laughed.

A few minutes later, Trista woke up and Nick and I just looked at her.
Jesus, do you guys always watch people when they sleep? She asked.
Just you. I grinned.
Well, Im going back to my room. Trista said just as there was a knock at the door. She got up and opened it and I think we were all surprised to see Erica standing there.
I was just leaving. Trista said about to walk by her.
Actually, I wanted to talk to all of you. Erica said. Trista backed up and sat on the bed.
Im really mad at you-- Trista began, but Erica cut her off.
I know you are and it kills me knowing that. Please just everyone hear me out? She asked. Nick and I looked at each other and nodded.

Aaron, you were right. Erica started. Whoa, Im right for once?
I am being a bitch. I got carried away over what I thought Nick and I had and it turned out to be nothing. So yeah, I was hurt and I didnt exactly want you and Nick to be happy. Erica said turning toward Trista. I just want to say Im really sorry to all of you for being horrible and I hope that we can all get past this. Erica said with pleading eyes. I smiled and walked over to her before hugging her.

Nick and Trista just sat there. I think it was too hard for them to forgive right now, especially since they had forgiven her in the past. Trista finally just walked out. Erica looked back at me sadly.
I think I lost my best friend. She cried a little. I rubbed her back, finally seeing a real person behind her eyes. I looked toward Nick.
Well, Im glad somebody else lost something besides me. He gritted before walking out as well. Ericas tears came down faster and harder. I just kept hugging her, not knowing what else to do. We were never close. I wouldnt even know what to say to make her smile.

Erica stopped crying a little while later and by that time, we already had to start getting ready to head to the venue. I rode with Nick and Mac on the way there and I could tell there was something on her mind.
Whats wrong? I asked.
Keely knows about us. She said and Nick looked over.
Well, you guys arent exactly good at hiding it. Nick laughed.
Thats going to have to change when Mom comes back. I warned. Mac nodded and looked down.
Is that all thats bothering you? I asked as the car stopped. Nick got out and Mac went to get out as well, but I grabbed her arm.
Talk to me. I said.

Keely just made me feel guilty about what were doing. Mac sighed.
Im sure theres a lot of people who would consider our relationship wrong, but Mac, we love each other as people. Were just experimenting with each other. Theres nothing wrong with that. I assured her. Mac smiled and nodded before kissing me gently.

Chapter 39

I walked into the venue and sat down as Erica began sound check. Nick sat down next to me and we both just listened to Erica sing for a few minutes.
"She does have a really pretty voice." Nick commented.
"Yeah, she does." I agreed. Mackenzie walked in and sat down beside Nick. We both smiled at her and she returned it before watching Erica.

"So what happened between you and Trista?" Mac asked looking toward Nick.
"We're friends." Nick sighed. Mac patted his knee.
"I'm sorry." She apologized.
"Mac, I've fallen so hard for her." Nick admitted. My eyes widened.
"I know." She said rubbing his back.
"Can't you talk to her or something?" Nick asked. He shouldn't put his bullshit on Mac.
"Nick, I really don't think I should get involved and besides, I don't even think Trista is talking to me right now." Mackenzie sighed. Nick nodded.
"I'll be right back." Mac said walking off. Not even a minute later, Mike sat where Mac had been sitting.

"What do you want?" Nick asked annoyed.
"To talk." Mike defended.
"I have nothing to say to you." Nick gritted.
"Nick, look I know I've been an asshole to you."
"Huh, that's an understatement." Nick said rolling his eyes.
"I know and I'm sorry I let this mess come between us." Mike said sincerely. Nick looked toward him for the first time in the conversation.
"I did nothing wrong to you, man. I didn't know you liked Erica." Nick defended himself.
"Yeah, I know. I would have gotten over it, but on top of the fact of Erica still being hung up on you, you went back for more." Mike groaned.
"That was my mistake and I didn't mean for it to happen. I'm paying the price for it now."

"Trista won't forgive you?"
"Not a chance." Nick sighed.
"I'm sorry dude." Mike said putting his hand on Nick's shoulder.
"Thanks." Nick said about to get up.
"Friends again?" Mike asked. Nick smiled.
"Sure, but just as long as you admit I got you good." Nick said pointing to Mike's bruised lip.
Mike laughed, "Dude, have you looked in the mirror lately? We all know who won that fight."
"Whatever, let's take it to the court." Nick said standing up and Mike followed.
"You coming Aaron?" Mike asked.
"Nah, my sound check is up soon." I said and they nodded and walked off. It was good to have them joking around again.

Mackenzie returned, sitting next to me and she placed her head on my shoulder. I brushed a few strands of hair out of her face and smiled at her.
"Tired?" I asked. She nodded. I stroked her face, wishing I could kiss her at that moment but I knew that I couldn't. Too many people around. I stopped touching her face and sighed.
"What's wrong?" Mac asked.
"Nothing." I replied and got up. I walked toward my dressing room and just as I went to close the door, Mackenzie pushed it back open. She walked in and closed the door shut. I sat down in a chair and she just looked at me, waiting for me to say something.

"What?" I asked.
"Something's wrong." Mackenzie stated.
"I just hate sneaking around sometimes." I sighed.
"Me too, but it is kind of exciting." Mac grinned.
"Yeah, it is." I smiled back and before I knew it Mac climbed into my lap and started sucking on my neck. My hands quickly found every inch of her covered body before our lips met. There was a knock at the door and we both pulled apart reluctantly.
"Who is it?" I asked.
"Keely."

Mackenzie got off of me and wiped my mouth. I guess her lipstick rubbed off on me. Mac opened the door and Keely was standing there with Shane and his manager. She made a face of disappointment toward me and Mac.
"Hi Mackenzie, I'm Jordan Turner, Westlife's manager." He smiled.
"It's nice to meet you." Mac said and walked out with him to talk business or whatever. Keely glared at me coldly and looked toward Shane.
"Shane, I need to talk to Aaron for a minute." She said. Shane nodded and walked away.
"Keel, I know what you're going to say."
"Good, then you should know it's wrong what you're doing."
"Stop it." I gritted.
"Stop what?" She asked.
"Mac and I aren't doing anything wrong."

"Just like we weren't right?" Keely asked.
"It's different." I sighed.
"So you're saying what we did was wrong?" Keely asked.
"No, but what difference does it make now? It's over. You're with Shane now."
"So is that what this is for you?"
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"Mac's your rebound because I'm with Shane?"
"What!? No, look I'm happy for you and Shane. Keely, sex is sex and you can get it anywhere. That's all we had."

"So I was just a bang to you and that was it?" Why the fuck was she taking this to heart now?
"No, I knew you were better than that. We're friends now and I much rather have this relationship than what we did have." I paused, "Are you hung up on us or what?"
"You wish." She laughed. I rolled my eyes.
"Then what's your deal?" I asked.
"You're a slut." She said simply. I laughed, but her face stayed serious.
"Don't hurt Mac because you can't keep your pants zipped." She warned.
"I'm not going to hurt Mac. We both want this."
"Want what?"
"To have fun." I sighed.
"You had fun before you started making out and God knows what else. What you're doing is about something totally different." Keely argued.

"Look I can't explain it. It just feels right when we're together." I said and Keely's eyes widened.
"You sound like you're in love." She accused.
I laughed, "I love Mac as a friend and that's all."
"That is a load of crap. Sleeping in each other's beds, holding each other does not make for merely a friendship." Keely said before walking away. I sighed. I wish people would stay out of my business sometimes.

Jordan and I were sitting in the production office discussing the contracts and the response of the tour so far. I had to admit his eyes were the bluest I've ever seen. Jordan was younger than I expected. He looked around twenty-seven and I expected to see a gray-haired Irishman, but he was actually American.

"So you're really making a name for yourself." Jordan smiled. I blushed. For the last twenty minutes, we were talking about our start in the business.
"I'm trying."
"Well, you're doing the right things." Jordan said looking into my eyes. His eyes haven't dropped to my chest onceat least, not that I noticed.
"Ooh, speaking of doing the right thingsI really have to get back to take care of some last minute details." I said standing up. Jordan stood up as well.
"Okay, not a problem."
"The guys should start rehearsing now anyway." I said and Jordan nodded.
"Well, Mackenzie it's been a pleasure meeting you and I'm looking forward to seeing your pretty smile everyday." He said. Flirting managers was not something I was used to. I can't say that I mind though.

I walked him over to the guys' dressing room and I talked to them for a little while before heading over to where Aaron was doing sound check. He smiled at me when I sat down. Trista walked in and I quickly got up and called out to her. She looked toward me without a smile offered.
"Are you still mad at me?" I asked.
"What do you think Mac?"
I sighed, "Tris, I'm sorry. I just wanted you to be happy."
"So you want me to continue seeing a guy who was cheating on me with my best friend?"
"Trista, it really wasn't cheating considering you guys were never an official couple." I reasoned.
"Whatever Mac, just take his side." She huffed.
"Please forgive me." I pleaded.
"I can't. I feel like too much of an idiot to think Nick really cared about me."
"Trista, he does. He told me he's fallen so hard for you."
"And of course you believe him. You're so gullible Mackenzie." Trista said before walking off.
I groaned and sat back down before looking up at Aaron. He smiled at me sympathetically.
"Please smile Mackenzie." He said into the microphone, but in a Donald Duck voice. I laughed and then smiled back.

Jordan came over and sat next to me as Aaron finished up and Westlife got ready. I talked to Jordan as Aaron sat next to me. Westlife got on the stage and I listened to them and smiled. I felt Aaron's hand on my leg inching its way upward as I talked to Jordan. It tickled so I began laughing.
"What's so funny?" Jordan asked.
"Nothing." I said and slapped Aaron's hand away. He laughed and a few minutes later rested his hand on my leg comfortably.

Once Jordan left, I looked toward Aaron.
"You make things so obvious." I said shaking my head at him.
"What does he care what we do?" Aaron asked.
"Aaron, I'm supposed to be professional. It doesn't look too good when I'm being groped or groping my seventeen year old headliner." I said with a joking smile.
"My age really bothers you doesn't it?" Aaron asked.
"No, but I'm risking a lot here." I sighed.
"I'm so sorry that my age is an inconvenience." Aaron said standing up and walking off. Just great.

I got up to follow him, for the second time today. I found him sitting in the hallway, leaning against the wall. I sat down next to him.
"Aaron, it doesn't matter to me how old you are. I love who you are and that's why you're one of my best friends."
"Go on." Aaron grinned. I laughed.
"And I love that you make me feel so comfortable around you. I was so nervous of how you'd react when I told you I was a virgin and you didn't make fun of me." I smiled.
"It's just one more thing for me to respect you for." Aaron said looking into my eyes. He put his arm around me and kissed my cheek.

"Your Mom's coming back soon." I reminded him.
"I know." He nodded.
"If we want to stay friends, we have to keep this a better secret."
"I know, but no matter what happens she'd never keep me away from you Mac." Aaron said in all seriousness. I smiled.
"Good."

Chapter 40

The next week and a half flew by. Aaron and I tried to take in every moment we could, since we knew things would slow down once Jane came back. It was a day many of us dreaded. Westlife fit into the tour like a glove and Keely couldnt be happier, but I still felt the tension between us especially when Aaron and I were together. I know shes just worried, probably more about me getting hurt than anything.

Im just tired of always doing what Im supposed to be doing instead of following what I really want. Maybe what Aaron and I have isnt my dream idea of how I pictured perfect to be. I dont expect anything more than friendship and a little excitement from Aaron and thats all he wants from me.

Erica seems to be concentrating on really honing her performance and weve been talking a lot of business. Im happy shes becoming so focused now. Shes even let me start looking for a manager for her. Trista and I are talking now, but I can tell shes still upset with me. Keely and Trista have been sharing rooms the past couple of days, but we switched now while were in Los Angeles. I walked into the room and Trista was lying on the bed watching TV. I sat down on my bed and turned the TV off with the remote.

Hey! Trista exclaimed.
All youve done is watch TV the past week. I sighed.
What would you rather me do?
Talk to me.
Id rather watch TV. She smirked.
Trista
Mac She mimicked rolling her eyes.
Look, I dont want you to be upset with me anymore.
Im not. Trista said.
Yes you are.
No, Im not.
Are.
Are not.
Are.
Trista! I laughed and she smiled.
See, things are back to normal. She grinned. I laughed and nodded.

I have to go brush my teeth. I said standing up.
Going to see Aaron? Trista asked raising her eyebrow.
Yeah. Janes coming back today. I sighed.
Uh-oh, will this cut into yours and Aarons freaky time? Trista laughed.
Excuse me, but we havent gotten freaky.
But you want to. Trista said positively.
Trista, hush. I said rolling my eyes and going into the bathroom.
Ohhhh, you do! Trista teased as I started the water and brushed my teeth. After I was finished, I stepped out into the hallway on my way to Aarons room, when I ran into Jordan.

Hey, want to join me for lunch? He asked with a sexy smile. I returned it.
I cant. I have to do something right now.
Maybe dinner tomorrow then? Jordan insisted. I smiled and nodded.
Sure. Jordan winked before walking off. I continued on to Aarons door and before I could even knock, Aaron answered the door wearing nothing but a towel. I looked at him somewhat confused.

Did you just get out of the shower? I asked as he grabbed me by the waist and pulled me inside. He pushed me up against the door and shook his head before kissing me long and hard.
I was waiting for you to take a shower with me. Aaron said almost shyly. A lump built in my throat and my stomach flip-flopped. I mean Aaron and I have seen parts of each other, but weve never been full-fledged naked with each other before. It made me nervous. Aaron searched my eyes for an answer.

If you dont want to, its okay He said embarrassed and disappointed all in one. I pulled his body against mine and kissed him before removing his towel. His fingers inched my tank top up before I removed it for him. Aaron continued to undress me until there was nothing to take off. He stepped back a little and just looked me over as I did him. I couldnt take my eyes off of him. He smiled at me and stepped toward me again.

Youre so beautiful. He whispered into my ear before kissing right behind it, sending chills up my spine.
So are you. I said running my hands down his chest. Aaron took one of my hands and led me into the bathroom. Once the water hit us, our hands and lips were all over each other. It was the most amazing thing Ive ever experienced. As I turned off the water, Aaron reached for two towels for us.

What times your Mom coming? I asked.
Not for a few more hours. Aaron said handing me a towel. I thanked him and wrapped it around myself. I put my clothes back on and watched Aaron get dressed as I laid on the bed. Aaron joined me a few moments later and I put my head on his chest.
That was the best shower Ive ever had. Aaron grinned. I laughed.
Mmm, Ive never felt so dirty and clean at the same time. I joked.
Hey, you wanna check out that amusement park with me a few blocks away tomorrow? Aaron asked.
Like you even have to ask. I laughed.

Mac and I kissed a few more times before she headed back to her room and I laid back down looking up at the ceiling. This definitely has to be the best tour Ive ever done. I dont feel like Im away from home at all and I never felt that way on tour before. Of course, I miss my sisters and my dad, not to mention my puppies, but Ive got a lot of my friends and my brother and I get to perform for my fans. And the fact that Mackenzie and I have evolved isnt hurting the situation either.

Nick walked in and looked at me funny. He sat down on his bed and kicked off his shoes.
What the hell are you smiling about? He asked.
Im not smiling.
No, youre grinning like an idiot. Nick laughed. I tossed a pillow at him and he caught it. Damn.
Im just thinking about how cool this tour is.
Yeah, it is pretty cool if you cut out the fact that I lost Trista and Mike was being an ass for most of it. Nick sighed. I shrugged.
Well, yeah that sucked. Nick laughed.
But you dont care. As long as youre getting action. Nick sighed. I sat up.
Dude, I always get action on tour. Thats not why I love this one. I argued.
Stop trying to be a little player. Youve never had your own little action figure though. Nick said and I looked at him confused.

Action figure? I asked.
Mackenzie. Nick laughed.
Shes not my action figure.
Really? She seems to do whatever you make her do or maybe its the other way around. Nick joked. He was pissing me off now.
Shut the fuck up.
Dont tell me to shut the fuck up. Nick said pushing me. I pushed him back and he pounced on me.
Take it back. I said as Nick got me in a headlock.
Take what back? Nick asked.
Mackenzie is not my action figure. I said struggling to breathe. Nick let go of me.
Dont disrespect her like that. I said and Nick looked kind of surprised.
Sorry dude. I didnt mean it like that. It was just a joke. Nick said. I got up and went to the bathroom to dry my hair, since Mom would be here soon.

About an hour later, there was a knock at our door. I opened it expecting to see Mom, but Angel stood there instead. My eyes widened and I grinned before picking her up and hugging her.
Aaron, put me down! She whined.
What are you doing here? I asked dropping my hold on her.
I have some time off so I thought Id visit my stupid brothers. She laughed as Nick came out of the bathroom and ran over and hugged her as well.
Im so happy youre here. I miss you touring with me. I said and Angel smiled.
Wow Aar. I missed you too. She said somewhat surprised. My twin and I were practically inseparable growing up, but the last couple of years we kind of did our own thing. Finding our own things to do without each other.

Wheres Mom? Nick asked.
She went to go talk to Mackenzie. Angel said rolling her eyes.
Whats that look for? I asked.
You know I dont like her. Angel sighed.
Careful, Aarons very sensitive when it comes to Mac. Nick snickered. I shoved him.
I dont know why you dont like her. I groaned.
Yeah, Macs cool. Nick said slinging his arm around Angel. She pushed it off.
And you stink. Nick lifted his arm and sniffed himself.
You still fall for it. Angel laughed and he pushed her lightly.
Youre such a stuck up model. Nick teased sticking out his tongue and Angel kicked him in the ass.
Ouch. Im going to find Mom. Nick said walking out.
Hes such a baby. Angel laughed. I pulled her inside and made her tell me all about Europe. She went on and on about the shopping and cute guys, not stuff I wanted to hear about. The work part interested me. She seemed to really be getting a lot of exposure and I could tell in the way she held herself, she took in a lot of the culture.

So what about you? Angel finally asked.
Just touring and having fun. I grinned. She eyed me suspiciously.
You have a girlfriend, dont you? Angel asked with a smile. I laughed.
No. Whatever Mom told you is wrong. Keely and I were never a couple. I sighed.
Oh, I think she mentioned Keely. Im not talking about that though. Angel smiled. Its my twin connection. You have a girlfriend.
I shook my head, Well, your twin connection sucks because youre wrong.
My twin connection rocks and youre definitely falling for someone.
Whatever, youre delusional. I said pushing her face.
Whatever. She mimicked before punching my arm.
You hit like a girl. I said sticking two fingers into the crook of her neck. She squirmed and pushed me off the bed.
I hate it when you do that! She yelled. I laughed.
Thats why I did it.

A little while later, Angel, Nick, Mom and myself were all at dinner. Mom hardly grilled me about what went on while I was away. I was in shock. I wonder what Mac said to her to get her off my back. Not only was she not grilling me, but she was being extra sweet to me like I was a little kid who needed his Mommy to make his boo-boo better or some shit. When we got back to the hotel, I went straight to my room and fell asleep. It was weird not seeing Mac for the rest of the day. Ive gotten used to being with her for most of the day, everyday. At least tomorrow, well get to hang out even if Angel and whomever else will tag along.

Chapter 41

There was a knock on my door and I wasnt surprised to see Jane standing behind it.
Welcome back. I said offering a fake smile. She ignored my attempt to be friendly and walked inside as if it were her own room. I closed the door behind her and no sooner that I turned around did the questions start shooting my way.
What did Aaron do while I was away? Jane asked. I wanted to tell her off for being so demanding and controlling of her son, whos no longer a little boy.
What he normally does. I answered with a sigh.

Mackenzie, dont be a smart ass.
Im not. Im telling you all he did was hang out with Nick, played videogames and we went out to dinner and went swimming a few times.
No clubs? Jane asked with a raised brow. I knew my horrible lies would show right through, so instead I stretched the truth.
We went to a couple, but they were college night clubs. So only seventeen to twenty-three was allowed. I said and Jane nodded.

Anything go on I should know about? Jane asked and my breath caught in my throat. I felt my hands begin to shake, but I composed myself.
Aaron and Keely arent together anymore. I sighed like it was a big loss.
Aaron was telling me the truth? Jane asked surprised. I nodded.
He was pretty broken up about it. Some nights I had to drag him out of his room to eat and at the clubs I had to pull him onto the dance floor. I said and compassion ran through Janes eyes. She was actually buying it.
Oh, poor thing. I liked Keely too. Why did they break up? Jane asked.
They both decided it was too much, too fast. I explained.
Is Aaron okay now? She asked.
Hes doing a lot better. I nodded. Jane smiled.
Thank you Mackenzie for spending time with him when he needed you. Jane said and I was surprised. I smiled. Why did this womans acceptance mean so much to me? I hate her.
No problem.
And thanks for keeping an eye on him for me. She said making her way to the door.

Jane? I called after her.
Yeah?
Maybe you can do me a favor. Erica needs a manager. Do you know of anyone who would be interested? I asked. Jane laughed lightly.
Dont push your luck Mackenzie. Just because I thanked you does not mean were friends in any way. Jane said before walking out. Bitch.

I laid back on my bed and just stared up at the ceiling. I thought about earlier today. I cant believe the most Ive done with any guy has been done with Aaron. I smiled, unable to hold it in thinking of the way he made me feel. If only I could find a guy to fall in love with who has Aarons lips and eyes and whom I feel so natural with, Id be the happiest girl alive.

Once Trista walked in, I was about to order room service.
You want anything? I asked.
Im not hungry. She sighed plopping on her bed.
Trista, eat.
No Mac.
Im going to tell Nick youre not eating because of him. I sighed.
I dont care. And hes not the reason why Im not hungry. Trista said sticking out her tongue.
Then why arent you hungry? I asked.
Because Im just not.

Trista, youve been saying that an awful lot lately.
Mackenzie, its not like Im starving myself. I just dont have an appetite. She argued.
Thats because you miss Nick.
No, I dont miss Nick.
Do too.
Do not.
Do--"
Mac, lets not do this right now. She said laying back on her bed. I sighed.
Im ordering you a grilled chicken salad.
Whatever. Trista mumbled.

After the food came, Trista finally took a couple of forkfuls of salad to shut me up. I grinned satisfactorily and finished my food quickly before getting changed into my pajamas. Trista and I settled on some movie on TV, but I dont think either of us paid much attention to it. Its weird not being with Aaron right now. Ive gotten used to going for late night walks or sneaking off somewhere or just hanging out and watching a movie together this past month. With Jane around, a lot of those things had to slow down. I looked over at Trista and she was already fast asleep. I decided she had a good idea and closed my eyes.

I woke up the next day to Aaron pounding on my door. I looked at him sleepily.
Time to go. He grinned. I shook my head.
I need more sleep. I said laying back down. Aaron came in and closed the door behind him, before jumping on top of me.
Aaron! I whined, trying to push him off me. He kissed my neck softly.
Thank you. He whispered and trailed his kisses further down. I giggled.
For? I asked.
Whatever you told my Mom. He said before rolling off of me and laying his head on my chest, pulling me closer to him.
Youre welcome. I said and I looked down at him as his eyes were closing.
Hey, didnt you come over here to wake me up?
Mmm. He smiled.
Then why are you going to sleep? I asked.
Your pillows are more comfortable than mine. He snickered. I pushed his head away from my chest.
Ugh, youre such a pervert. I said standing up. I went into the bathroom and took a shower.

When I walked out of the bathroom in my towel, Trista was watching Sponge Bob Squarepants as Aaron cuddled my pillows tightly and was dead asleep.
Um, you have a Carter drooling on your bed. Trista said with a smirk.
Yeah, I can see that. I said grabbing my clothes and going back inside the bathroom. Once I was all ready, I walked back out and sat at the edge of the bed near Aarons legs.
Are you coming with us to the amusement park? I asked.
I dont know. Trista shrugged.
Please? I asked.
Is Nick coming?
I dont know.
Is Erica coming? She asked.
I dont know. I sighed.
Do you know anything? Trista laughed.
No. Aaron murmured. I looked at him and saw him quickly close his eyes. I pulled a bunch of the hair on his leg and he squealed before whimpering. I smiled before he stuck his foot in my face. I smacked it away disgusted. Trista laughed before going into the bathroom.

I scooted further up the bed and laid down next to Aaron. He stared into my eyes as he ran his fingers through my hair. I moved myself closer to his body before wrapping my arm around his waist. We leaned in for a kiss before I put my head down on the pillow and Aaron removed his hand from my hair and wrapped it around me.

I woke up to Trista answering the door and once I heard Angel and Nicks voice, I sprang up in the bed causing Mackenzie to fall off with a thud. Oops.
Owww Mac whined.
Sorry. I said and Trista, Nick and Angel all looked at us oddly.
Everything okay here? Nick asked. Mac just nodded before standing up and rubbing her butt. I snickered and got off the bed. Angel looked Mackenzie up and down.
Hey Angel. I didnt know you were here. Mac smiled. Angel just nodded.
Hi. She replied softly.
You guys ready? Moms already downstairs. Nick said. Mac and I nodded.
You coming Trista? Nick asked.
No.
Tris Mac sighed.
Come on, Ill buy you some cotton candy. I grinned.

Trista looked between us all and nodded before walking out. Nick smiled at me and I followed him out, leaving Mac and Angel behind us. I could hear Mac trying to make conversation as we made our way toward the elevator.
So hows the modeling going?
Good.
Do you like Europe?
Yeah.
Meet a lot of cool people? Mac asked.
A few. Angel said dully before walking over to Mike once we got to the elevator. I looked back toward Mac and smiled at her.
Why does your sister hate me? She sighed.
Angel doesnt hate you.
Well, she doesnt like me.
Yeah.
She doesnt? Mac asked like Im the one who said it in the first place.
She listens to whatever my Mom says. Dont let it bother you. I said rolling my eyes.

Dont let it bother me? Aaron, no one in your family likes me. I hate when people dont like me. Mac pouted. Shes cute. I put my arm around her.
Nick likes you.
Hes a boy. Your sisters dont like me.
BJ likes you.
BJs never even met me. She laughed.
Well, from what Ive told her, she likes you. I laughed.
And Leslie? Mac asked.
I think she likes you.
Oh great. Mac laughed.
I like you. Isnt that all that matters? I asked and Mac smiled.
I suppose thatll have to do. Mac grinned.

We made our way into the vans and took off for the amusement park. Keely and Shane went around playing just about every cheesy game where you won those big goofy stuffed animals. Mac kept saying how adorable it was, but I wanted to gag. Nick and Trista walked around, hardly talking, but you could tell they wanted to. Erica, Angel, Mike and Mom kind of clumped together.

As for Mac and Iwe went on just about every ride twice. Nick and Trista finally joined us a couple of hours before we left. I know Nick wanted to talk to Trista, but I guess it just didnt work out. After we all got back to the hotel, my stomach started to grumble. I looked down the hall to see Mac about to go into her room and I called out to her. She turned toward me and I motioned to get something to eat with my hand.
I cant. She said.
Why? I asked curiously.
I have plans. Mac said before slipping off into her room. Plans? I shrugged. Maybe it was some girls' night dinner or some crap.

A little while later, Nick and I were playing videogames and there was a knock on the door. I paused the game and opened the door to Keely and Shane.
Hey guys. I smiled.
We wanted to know if you guys wanted to get dinner? Keely asked. I looked over at Nick and he jumped up.
That would be a yes? Keely asked. I laughed and nodded.
I thought you would be going out with Mac or something. I said.
No, was I supposed to? Keely asked.
I dont know. She said she had plans. I shrugged.
Oh, shes going to dinner with Jordan tonight. Shane said.
Jordan who? I asked.
My manager. Shane laughed.
Oh, like a business dinner? I wondered.
No, I dont think so. Jordan hasnt stopped talking about Mackenzie all week. Shane laughed.
Aww, thats so cute. Keely said and I just looked at her with a disgusted look.
Isnt that cute Aaron? Nick asked with a stupid ass smirk. I shot him a look.
Lets just go eat. I sighed.

Wait, Im going to ask Trista if she wants to come. Nick said running off to her room. About five minutes later, Nick returned looking disappointed.
She turned you down? I asked.
Yeah, shes having dinner with Mom. Nick said like he wanted to shoot himself. I laughed and we made our way onto the elevator.
So Mac and Jordan on a date Keely said, purposely bringing it up.
Yup, its pretty cool. Shane agreed.
He really likes her? Keely asked.
Oh yeah. I havent seen him like this over a girl in a long time. Shane said smiling. I just groaned and hoped we made it to the lobby before I threw up.

Chapter 42

The next morning we were on the buses traveling back toward the east coast. Angel and Nick were playing videogames as Mike and I were playing Rummy. Mom was on the phone talking about some kind of business. Id hate to work for heroh wait, I kind of do. Really shes supposed to work for me. One day maybe Ill feel like that. I sighed as Mike called Rummy and I lost again.

The bus stopped and I was itching to get off. I hated sitting in one spot for too long, plus every chance Nick could, hed talk about Trista. It was driving me insane. On top of that, Angel kept going on and on about some Italian young Fabio she had a crush on. When she wasnt talking about him, shed start in about me having a girlfriend or a crush on someone.

I got off the bus as quickly as possible. Mom followed me off. Great. I walked toward Macs bus and she seemed to be following me still. Finally, I turned around and glared at her.
Why are you following me?
Im not. I have to talk to Erica. Mom said.
Erica? I asked kind of surprised.
Yeah, about business. Mom said simply before walking on their bus. I shrugged and just as I was about to get on, Mac and Trista came off. I smiled at them and Mom stuck her head out.
Aaron, Im going to stay on their bus until we get to Little Rock. Mom announced. My eyes brightened and once she disappeared, I grinned at Mac.

Whats that look for? She asked with a laugh.
Come on my bus? I asked pleadingly. Mackenzie acted as if she were thinking before nodding. I smiled.
Sure, just leave me. Trista huffed.
Erica and Jane will be on your bus. Mac said.
Yeah, and I dont talk to Erica anymore and if Janes talking to Erica, I wont be talking to her now will I? Trista sighed.
So come on my bus too. I shrugged.
Why so Nick can try and sweet talk me?
Trista. Mac and I both said at the same time.
What?
Stop being difficult. I said.
Yeah. Mac agreed. Trista smiled and we all walked toward my bus.

We got on the bus and made our way toward the back. Angel raised an eyebrow once she saw Mac. Shit. I forgot Angel was on the bus too. Well, fooling around was out, but thats cool I guess. With Mac, just talking was fun too. It sounds gay, but she really is my best friend.
Hey girls. Nick smiled.
Theyre riding with us.
Cool. Nick grinned and Angel rolled her eyes.
Wheres Mom? She asked.
On our bus talking to Erica. Trista answered.
Well, this bus is getting a little too crowded. Angel said standing up.
Ang
See you guys in Arkansas. She said walking toward the front of the bus. I sighed and Mackenzie looked over at me.
Maybe I should go back to my bus so Angel can come back. Mac suggested and I grabbed her hand.
No. Let her be a brat. This is your tour and this is my bus. We can do what we want. I smiled. Mac smiled back and I felt like kissing her, but Mike, Nick and Trista were all staring. We looked over at them.

Kiss. Nick ordered.
What? Mac and I asked like he was crazy.
I never really saw you guys kiss.
Um, in the pool? Mac mentioned.
Yeah, but that happened so fast and you werent exactly kissing each others lips. Nick snickered. Mac blushed deeply.
Youre weird that you want to see us kiss. Mac said.

Am I missing something? Mike asked. Oh damn.
I dont want to get into it. I sighed.
Allow me. Trista grinned.
Mac and Aaron are friends with benefits.
Really? Mike asked, not so surprised.
Yup, Nick and I caught them red handed in Indianapolis.
I always knew she was your sugar Mama! Mike laughed.
Sugar Mama? Mac said narrowing her eyes.
Hes an ass. Dont mind him. I said.
Come on Mackenzie, it was so obvious you and Aaron wanted each other. Everyone knew it except you guys. Mike said rolling his eyes.
Okay, this is just a little too creepy to be talking about it like this. Mackenzie said uncomfortably. I had to agree. It felt like they were making a bigger deal than needed. This was just fun, nothing more.

Kiss, then well drop it. Trista said sitting down in between Mike and Nick.
Trista! Mac groaned.
Come on, its fun making you blush this much. Just do it and get it over with. Trista told Mac.
No. She said.
You guys are sick. I said shaking my head at them.
Kiss, or Ill tell Mom. Nick grinned just as the bus started to pull away. Mac kind of jerked forward from the movement of the bus and I grabbed onto her. I leaned down and met her lips in a soft, gentle kiss and she kissed me back before I deepened it slightly. We pulled apart and looked toward everyone. They all just sat there with stupid smiles on.

What? Mac and I asked.
Its just weird. Nick shrugged.
Great, so now were the freaks. Mac groaned.
No, its just weird seeing you guys do that when you claimed to never have feelings for each other. Mike said.
We dont have feelings for each other. I said.
So what the hell do you call it when two people kiss like that? Mike asked.
Attraction maybe? I suggested. Why were people so stupid?
Whatever. Trista mumbled and Mike and Nick snickered.

Lets watch a movie or something. I really dont like discussing this with everyone. Mackenzie said getting more and more uncomfortable.
Okay, how about we watch Fried Green Tomatoes? Nick suggested. What the fuck?
Dude, are you serious? I asked as Mike looked at him like he was nuts. Trista smiled.
Yeah, its a good movie. Nick said with a wink.
Nice try Nick, but pretending to like my favorite movie is not going to get you anywhere. Trista said crossing her arms over her chest. I laughed.
Youre so lame. I said opening the cabinet with all the DVDs.
How about Joy Ride? I asked.

Aaron, weve watched that movie like ten times already this month. Nick whined. I had a bad habit of playing out the same movie until I was sick of it.
Fine, then someone else pick for a change. I said plopping down next to Mike. Mackenzie looked at the movie collection before selecting Goldmember. Mike put the movie on and Mac sat down next to me, tucking her legs underneath her. I smiled at her before turning my attention toward the movie. After a little while, I wrapped an arm around her and she put her head on my chest.

After a while, I felt a nudge. I looked up at Aaron and he nodded toward everyone. Nick was stretched out on the couch with Trista lying beside him. Mike was dozing off as well. I smiled and Aaron stood up before offering me a hand. He took me over to his bunk and held the curtain open for me. I got in and he got in next to me. Aaron wrapped his arms around me before kissing me a few times and laying his head on my chest. I ran my fingers through his hair before he fell asleep. I watched Aaron sleep for a little while before falling asleep myself.

Next thing I knew, it was pitch black and the bus came to a stop. As I adjusted my eyes, I felt lips on my neck and then they found my lips. I slid my hands up Aarons shirt and we heard movement. Aaron sat up and opened the curtain before stepping out of the bunk. I followed and Mike was getting off the bus. I looked toward the back of the bus and Nick and Trista were talking. I smiled over at Aaron and we made our way off the bus. Jane and Angel walked over toward us.
We need to discuss some things tomorrow. Maybe over lunch? Jane suggested.
Um, sure. I replied before going into the hotel with Dan, my assistant to check in.

When I came out, I gave everyone their keys and slowly everyone started to disperse. I noticed Aaron, Mike, Keely and Shane standing by Aaron and Nicks tour bus. They had strange expressions on their faces, so I walked over.
What are you guys-- I started, but Keely pulled my hand.
Listen. She whispered. I looked at her like she was crazy when I heard whimpering and moaning. My eyes widened.
Oh Trista! Nick growled. We all just looked at each other wide-eyed.
Say my name bitch! Trista shouted. Aaron held in a laugh, as I was still kind of shocked.

Jane walked over and put her hands on her hips.
What are you kids doing? She asked and she heard the commotion on the bus. She stormed onto the bus and I heard her say something to Nick and Trista before coming off the bus.
Oh, its just Nick and Trista. Jane laughed and walked off. We all looked back at each other before piling onto the bus curiously now. We all stopped and laughed at the sight in front of us.

Trista had Nicks arm twisted behind his back as she sat on top of him.
Trista, I said I was sorry! Nick whined. He turned toward us and he looked like hed die of humiliation.
Okay Tris, I think you tortured him enough. I laughed. Trista let go of Nick and he rubbed his arm. I walked off the bus and made sure everyone came with me.
Mac, I want to see Trista beat up Nick some more. Aaron whined.
Let them be alone. I said just as Jordan came walking over toward me with a smile that could make anyone melt.

Hey beautiful. I just wanted to tell you again I had a great time last night. He winked before kissing my cheek.
I blushed, So did I Jordan.
If youre not busy tonight, Id like to do it again.
Sure. I grinned.
Ill see you around eight? He asked and I nodded. He kissed my cheek once more before going into the hotel. I beamed at the thought of another date with Jordan. Last night, we had an amazing date. Nothing out of the ordinary, but just great conversation and dinner. The night ended in a short, but sweet kiss that I was still reeling from.

Well, were going to go to our rooms. Shane said smiling at me. I nodded and then walked off.
You ready Aaron? Mike asked and I looked over at Aaron. His eyes were burning a hole through me.
Aaron? Mike asked again.
Yeah, Ill be there in a minute man. He said and Mike walked off.
So you like this Jordan guy? Aaron asked.
Yeah. I said softly.
Thats cool. He said taking my hand and pulling me up the steps of the bus. I wondered what he was doing, but as soon as we were out of public view he brought me into a smoldering kiss, that took my breath away.
Have a nice date. He grinned before walking off the bus. I just stood there for a minute. Was he trying to prove something to me? Okay yeah, so maybe Jordan wont live up to Aarons kisses, but maybe he can offer me a lot more in a romantic relationship than Aaron can.

As I went up to my room, I heard my name being called and I turned to see an excited Erica coming my way. I smiled at her.
Mackenzie, I dont know what you did, but thank you! She squealed before hugging me. Huh?
Um, youre welcome. What did I do? I asked with a laugh.
You talked to Jane about me!
Well, yeah, kind of. I said still somewhat confused.
Yeah, well she wants to manage me! Erica squealed once again. I thought for a moment. Was that a good thing?
Ric, are you sure you want her to be your manager?
Are you kidding me? Shes already offered me a spot on Aarons next tour and she can get me a record deal in no time! Erica said overly excited.
Yeah, but look who you have to deal with. I reasoned.
Mac, I get along fine with Jane. Im excited about this. Please support my decision. Erica pleaded. I nodded and broke out into a smile before hugging her.
Im happy for you Erica.
Thank you.

I went back to my room and started getting ready for my date with Jordan. Trista walked in all smiles and I looked at her oddly.
You two are back together? I wondered, but really I was just hoping.
No Mackenzie.
So what was all the wrestling about?
He told me to take out my anger on him. She laughed.
Oh big mistake on his part.
Oh yeah, he realizes that now. Trista grinned. I laughed.
So whats going on between you guys?
Were friends. This time, Im actually going to be his friend though instead of holding my grudge with him. Trista explained.
Well, good. I smiled before heading into the bathroom.

What are you doing tonight? Trista asked.
I have a date.
Oooh, with? She asked.
Jordan. Who else? I laughed.
I thought maybe Aaron was going to wise up and actually ask you out on a real date. Trista sighed. I poked my head out of the bathroom.
Trista, Aaron and I know what we want from each other and were both fine with it.
Whatever, Mac. Trista said rolling her eyes. I decided to ignore her comment because I didnt want to argue and be in a bad mood for my date.

Chapter 43

The next week went by quickly and it was packed with a lot to do. Every night ended with Jordan and I going to the hotel caf or going for a walk before hed take me back to my room and kiss me. With each day, his kisses grew deeper and I knew he was starting to expect more. One intimate kiss a night usually doesnt cut it.

Ill admit I was reserved when it came to Jordan. There were only a few weeks left on the tour and things were hectic as I prepared for my return. Plus, I was working out deals with Jane on how to handle Ericas career. That was a headache all its own. Jane and I just didnt mix at all. Jane didnt mix with most people, but especially not with me.

Aarons activities and mine had slowed down a lot since Angel was keeping him to herself. I was definitely missing him and I sometimes felt guilty being out with Jordan, when occasionally I hoped Id get back early enough to try and sneak in some time with Aaron.

On our first non-show day in the past week, we all decided to go to dinner together. All of us included Jane, Angel, Howie, Pollyanna and all of Westlife, which meant Jordan would also be with us. When we got to the restaurant, I was planning to sit in between Trista and Keely or Erica, but Aaron beat Trista to my side and Keely sat near Shane whom was at the end of the table. Erica sat in between Mike and Jane. I smiled at Aaron before sitting down and I looked to the other side of me as Jordan sat down offering me a warm smile. This was awkward.

The past week had been a blur as I did a few signings and had a bunch of interviews to do. Late at night, I wanted to sneak out and be with Mackenzie, but every time I went to her room she wasnt there or my Mom would be watching my every move. I spent most of the time with Angel anyway, so during the day it was hard to get away. Ill admit I didnt really like the idea of Mac and Jordan together. It was just uncomfortable. He seemed like an okay guy, but there were three weeks left on this tour and I didnt want to have to share Mac with anyone. I know it sounds selfish and possessive, but Mackenzies my best friend and were not going to see each other like this everyday after the tour.

I didnt think this Jordan thing was serious anyway. He looked at her with googly eyes, but she looked at him back more flattered than feeling the same way. Maybe I was reading her wrong, but how come as she sits between us she smiles at me, but looks at Jordan with some kind of reservations? I want Mac to be happy. I want her to find what she wanted, but somehow I didnt think Jordan was it. I didnt want him to be it either. The waitress came over and everyone started ordering. I noticed Jordan place his hand on Mackenzies knee and I saw her tense a little.

We all ordered and I wanted to get Mac alone somehow.
You wanna dance? Nick asked Trista.
You know I dont dance. Trista sighed. Man, my brother didnt give up. I shook my head.
And I still dont buy that excuse. Nick said taking Tristas hand before she could protest. I smiled as they walked over to the small dance floor in the middle of the restaurant.
They make such an adorable couple. Mom cooed. Ericas face scrunched and I smiled at her sympathetically. It must be rough for her. Trista and Nick were keeping their distance still. I thought Mike would have made his move by now on Erica, but he seemed to have pulled back.

I looked toward Mackenzie and Mom started in with questions. What the hell? I wondered as she asked Mac and Jordan all kinds of things that were none of her business.
So how long have you two been dating? Mom asked and I noticed her side glance toward me.
About two weeks. Jordan said, his hand moving upward and Macs face becoming more flushed.
Did you meet through the tour? Mom asked.
Yes. Mackenzie said, clearing her throat. Mom asked a few more questions before I got an idea.
Dance with me? Jordan asked Mac just as I was about to. Shit. Mac accepted and they made their way out to the dance floor. My eyes followed them and I guess I didnt notice Angel calling my name.
Aaron! She yelled startling me. I turned toward her.
What?
Youve been pretty quiet. Is something wrong? Angel asked. I looked between her and Mom.
No, Im just a little tired. I sighed.

A few moments later, Trista and Nick came back laughing about some strange guy on the dance floor and I smiled at them. A few more minutes later, Mac and Jordan sat down. Jordans hand immediately found its way up Mackenzies thigh and I felt like punching him out. His hand was now rubbing her leg. I couldnt stand it anymore.
Mac, dance with me please? I asked standing. She kind of looked at me strangely, but didnt hesitate to stand up. We walked out onto the dance floor and I pulled her close.
You okay? I asked.
Yeah. She said softly.
I saw where Jordans hand was. You looked uncomfortable. I sighed. Mac looked into my eyes and then looked down.
Yeah.
Talk to me. I said and she didnt say anything.

Mac, you dont like Jordan, do you?
I do Aaron. I really like him. Mac said.
You do? I asked completely surprised.
Yes, but he wants to move on and its weird for me.
Why? I wondered.
Im not sure. Maybe I think its too soon to do anything but kiss. I mean I couldnt even make out with him. Mac sighed.
Really? I asked and I realized I sounded too happy about that.
And youre a big part of it. Mac said and my eyes widened.
Me?
Aaron, Im used to being in your arms. Im used to feeling you touch me. Ive never been with another man the way I have been with you. Mac said gulping. She called me a man. I smiled down at her and we both froze. I didnt know what to say or do.
Im sorry. I said.
Me too. Mackenzie nodded. I wasnt even sure what we were apologizing for.

I stared up into Aarons eyes, when I felt a tap on my shoulder.
The foods here. Keely said. Aaron and I nodded and we walked back to the table. Jordan smiled at me as I sat down. I ate in silence as everyone else made conversation. The rest of the night was somewhat pleasant, but thoughts just filled my mind. I thought about the relationship I had with Aaron and the relationship I could have with Jordan. I had to make a decision now before anything went further. After we got back to the hotel, Jordan asked me to take a walk and I agreed. We stepped outside and walked along the path near the hotel. Jordan took my hand in his.

Was something wrong tonight? He asked.
No, I was just tired. Sorry I wasnt much company.
Just you being next to me is company enough. Jordan smiled and his blue eyes twinkled. I smiled back and stopped walking. He stopped too and held both my hands now. I leaned up and met his lips in a long kiss. When we pulled apart, I smiled. Maybe this could work.
Mackenzie, I like you a lot.
I like you too Jordan. I said and he grinned before kissing me again.

When I got back to the hotel, I saw Mackenzie and Jordan walk off together and I sighed. I thought back to what Mackenzie had said to me and I smiled. I was a man in her eyes. A man that made her feel good when she was in my arms. I stepped inside my hotel room and Mike was getting ready in front of the mirror as Nick and Trista lay on the bed watching TV.

Where are you going? I asked Mike.
To a club with some of the guys from the tour.
Erica going with you? I wondered.
No, why would she? Mike asked.
I just thought you and her would--
Aaron, Im over that, okay? Erica didnt want me, so Im moving on. He sighed.
You guys going to go with him? I asked toward Nick and Trista. They both shook their heads.
Why dont you go Aar? Moms already asleep. Nick suggested.
No, I dont feel like it. I said sitting down on the bed.
You sure? Mike asked kind of surprised. I nodded and laid back on the bed as I kicked my shoes off.

At around two am, there was a knock on the door. I looked over and noticed Nick and Trista asleep. I rubbed my eyes as I stood up. I opened the door and Mac smiled at me. She didnt say anything. She just took my hand and pulled me toward her room. Mac opened the door and pulled me inside before closing the door behind us. She pressed her lips against mine and I responded quickly by backing her onto the bed and laying on top of her.
Ive missed you. Mac whispered leaning her head back. I began kissing her neck.
I missed you too. I said before lifting her shirt up and over her head.

After fooling around for a little bit, Mac and I laid under the covers, now fully clothed. We got into one of those conversations. You know the type where you dont know what started it, but four hours later you find yourself still in the conversation, but on a totally different topic that you cant even remember how it led into it.

So you dont want your kids to be in the business? Mac asked.
Its not that. I just dont think I want them in the business so young. I sighed. Mac nodded.
What about you? You want your kids to follow in your footsteps? I asked.
If they want to be journalists. Im all for it. Theres lots of things Id want to teach them, but I dont know if theyd want to be like me. Mac shrugged.
Of course they will. I smiled. Mac smiled back.
What time is it? She asked.
After seven. I said impressed we stayed up the whole night.
We should get some sleep.
Yeah, I guess I better go back to my room. I sighed not wanting to get up.
Good night. Mackenzie said raking her nails down my back as I put my shoes on. I shivered at the sensation and leaned in to kiss her.

After Aaron had left, I smiled to myself thinking of the amazing conversation we had that night. I mean the first hour was just our attraction shining through, but the next four were complete friendship and not just any kind of friendship, the best kind. I then sighed thinking of how last night for the first time, I felt more comfortable with Jordan, but then I went to Aaron right after. I suddenly felt like I was doing something wrong.

I closed my eyes and tried to get as much sleep in as possible before my wake-up call, but I wasnt very successful. I got into the shower and after I was ready, I made my way over to the venue, but I was pretty much dead on my feet.
Real professional Mackenzie. Jane said walking by as I dozed off in the production office. I just glared at her and tried to go back to work. I cant believe this tour would be over in less than three weeks. I was really going to miss it all, but I had to admit familiar surroundings were also a nice thought.

Chapter 44

Are you ready? Jordan asked. I looked over my shoulder at him and smiled.
One minute. I said before clicking send on my e-mail and closing my laptop. I stood up and Jordan took my hand before leading me out of the venue. As we walked, we passed Aaron and Keely. I smiled at Keely, but barely made eye contact with Aaron. I had cancelled plans to go to a club tonight with Aaron, Nick and Trista and I dont think it went over too well. Jordan had begged me to go out with him tonight. He said he had something special planned and the thought had me glowing.

We got to the restaurant and were seated immediately since Jordan had reservations. It was a semi-fancy place. Thank God I wore a dress instead of my tight jeans like I had originally planned. Jordan wasnt one for details. I could have shown up in a garbage bag and it wouldnt have fazed him. If you asked him what color the sky was, without even looking at it hed probably say something like, The color it normally is. Whereas I would look up and call it a Purplish-orange mesh. Im a girl, so I guess I care if Im dressed properly or what movie we see. Weve gone to the movies two times so far and weve seen a chick flick both times. I didnt even have to put up a fight. Jordans different than any man Ive known. He was sensitive, laid back and a pushover. Me being those things myself find it strange to date someone like that.

There were lots of advantages to dating Jordan though. He never thought twice about saying what he felt where it concerns me. Hes full of compliments and romantic gestures. His kisses were gentle and made me feel as if I were in junior high again. All throughout dinner, we talked about work and what wed be doing after the tour and thats when the special part of the evening happened.

Mackenzie, have you thought about us after the tour ends? Jordan asked.
Of course. I said biting my lower lip.
Ill be in Europe for a couple of months. He sighed. I put my hand on top of his.
Dont feel bad.
I want you to be my girlfriend. Jordan said hopeful. I kind of expected this, but at the same time it still came as a surprise. No ones really asked me to be their girlfriend before. It kind of just happened and I was always wondering where we stood exactly. As I looked into Jordans eyes, the word rolled off my tongue, Yes. I smiled and Jordan grinned before kissing me. This could be the real thing.

After dinner, Jordan walked me back to my room. He didnt ask to come in. He didnt want to disrespect me. Thats just the way he was. I kissed him wholeheartedly before he left. I slipped my shoes off in a daze and I pulled out my pajamas. Just as I was about to change, I heard a thud against the door and giggling on the other side. I opened the door and Aaron fell into me. His breath smelled of beer and I sighed trying to hold him up as Trista and Nick stood behind him laughing.

What did you guys do to him? I asked. Aaron was singing some song so lazily that I couldnt even recognize it.
We didnt do anything. Trista snickered.
You let him drink. I groaned as Aaron stepped inside my room and plopped on the bed.
He wanted to Mac. Nick shrugged.
Hes a minor. Trista, you should have stopped him. I sighed.
Me? Mackenzie, please. We all drank before we were even eighteen. She rolled her eyes.
Yeah, but at some club, the night before MY tour while his mother is asleep across the hall? I gritted.
Mac, dont worry. Ill take him to bed and Mom wont even know. Nick reasoned.
No bed. Aaron murmured hugging my pillow.

Aaron, come on. Lets go to our room and play video games. Nick said and Aaron shook his head.
I dont want to. Mac, stay with me. Aaron said patting the bed. I looked back at Nick and Trista.
How much did he have to drink? I asked wide-eyed.
Ummm Trista said looking at Nick.
I saw him have a few beers. We did a couple of shots together and Nick tried to think.
He had the rest of my sex on the beach. Trista added.
And then you two went and danced and left him at the bar, didnt you? I asked.
Im sorry. I know it was stupid. Trista sighed.
Look, just let him lay there until he sobers up. Nick said pulling Tristas arm.

Wait, where are you two going? I asked.
I promised Nick Id play video games with him if he did the Macarena on the dance floor. Trista laughed. I shook my head as they ran down the hall like two kids. I closed the door behind them and looked over at Aaron who was taking off his sneakers and flinging them across the room.

I looked over at Mackenzie and she looked almost afraid to come near me. I pulled off my socks and flung them over my shoulder and then I stood up and walked over to her.
Dance with me? I slurred. Before Mac could answer, I had her in my arms as I hummed in her ear. She eased against my body. I just swayed along with her, until I felt like I couldnt stand anymore. Mac helped me over to the bed and I laid down. She looked down at me and the room was spinning behind her.

Did you have fun with Jordan? I asked. My head felt like a pile of bricks.
Yeah.
Good. You guys didnt have sex did you? I asked, my head feeling heavier.
Aaron Mac said blushing.
I have to be your first. I said sitting up and pulling Mac down into a kiss. She pushed away.
Aaron, just lay down. Mac said soothingly as she rubbed her hand over my chest. I took her hand and placed it on my zipper.
I need you. I said and she quickly pulled her hand away.
No. She said simply. I sat up again.

Why not? Is it the whole me not being eighteen yet? I asked feeling dizzy now.
Its a lot of things.
Like?
Thatand the fact that youre drunk. And theres something I have to tell you. Mac said seriously. I put my hand over her mouth.
Shhwait, theres something I have to tell you. I said and Im not even sure what I was going to say before I got up and ran to the bathroom. I threw up everything I had consumed in the past few hours and I felt like complete shit. I felt a cold rag on the back of my neck and Mackenzie slid down next to me on the floor.
Thanks. I said weakly. She smiled at me and I tried to smile back.

I want you to know that these past couple of months have been amazing. I said putting my hand on her knee. Mackenzie smiled.
I feel the same way. She said putting her hand on top of mine. I actually mustered up a smile this time before Mackenzie helped me up. I squirted some toothpaste in my mouth before taking off my shirt and pants and lying on the bed.
Do you feel any better? Mackenzie asked.
A little. Go change. I said. Mac nodded and a few minutes later, she returned and got into bed next to me. I kissed her lips briefly before putting my head down and laying an arm across Mackenzie.

The next morning, I woke up with a killer headache. Mac was still asleep next to me. I just looked at her for a moment. She looked so peaceful and beautiful. I smiled and tickled her nose. She scratched her nose and rolled toward my body, so that she was pressed up against me. I groaned as I felt I was being teased. I began kissing her neck as my fingers hooked into her pajama bottoms and began to pull them down. Mackenzie sprang up and glared at me.

Wh-what are you doing? She asked.
What we normally do. I shrugged going to kiss her. She put her hand up.
Oh, I forgotmorning breath. I laughed getting up and brushing my teeth. I jumped back into bed with Mackenzie and went to kiss her again, but she pulled away.
Whats wrong? I asked.
Aaron, we cant do this.
Mac, were just fooling around. Im not going to make you go any further. I said figuring I freaked her out a little in my drunken stooper last night.
No, we cant fool around anymore. Mackenzie sighed. I looked at her blankly and waited for her to explain.

Remember that rule where we stop this if one of us gets into a serious relationship? She asked. I nodded and gulped.
Last night Jordan asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes. I didnt know what to feel at hearing this. Macsomeones girlfriend? Someone else spending their time with herkissing her and holding her and maybe even having late night talks the way I did with her.
Butbut you said you dont feel comfortable with Jordan. I stuttered out.
Im getting there. She smiled slightly. I felt like puking again.
Besides, relationships arent all about sexual contact you know? She rolled her eyes.
I know. I stammered. Did she not think I thought of anything but sex?

Are you okay with this? Mackenzie asked. I laughed.
Why wouldnt I be?
I dont knowI thought maybe youd miss She trailed off.
Touching you? I asked pulling one strap down on her pajama top. Mac pushed me off and pulled her strap back up.
Ill miss it, but it was fun you know? I said uncomfortably.
Yeah, it was. Mac smiled.
Come here. She said pulling me into a hug. I kissed her shoulder and just then the door opened. Trista, Mom and Angel stood on the other side with their mouths hung open. Oh shit.
