Chris Kirkpatrick wailed along with his car radio. He was on his way to visit his girlfriend Lauren. It was their one mont anniversary and he was going to tell her that he loved her for the first time. He felt nervous and jittery because he was afraid that he was rushing things but listening to the song reminded him of why he was doing what he was. Lauren wasn't like his past girlfriends. She had a way of making him melt just by walking into a room. She was beautiful in the sense of being like a super model but to him she was the most beautiful girl ever. She was fairly average in everything but that's what Chris loved about her. He also loved to be with her and make love to her and kiss her. He pulled up ho her house with the radio blaring. Lauren came out of the house singing along.
"You're such a nerd." Chris said as Lauren walked over to his car window.
"You're the one blasting The Darkness and I'm a nerd?" she asked
"Well yes, because I said so." he replied
"Uh, I don't think so pal."
"Wait, this is the best part." he said, silencing her.
They sang together.
"We are such nerds." Lauren said as Chris climbed out of the car.
"Oh, now you agree with me." he said
"Yeah. It's different when you say we're both nerds as opposed to just me." she said
"I guess you have a point." he agreed
They went into the house and watched television until dinner was ready. They ate the dinner Lauren had prepared which was very delicious according to Chris and cleaned up the kitchen. When they were done, they went to the living room to sit and relax. They were sitting on the couch and Lauren was laying across Chris. He stroked her hair as they watched television.
"Laur?" he asked, checking to see if she was still awake.
"Hmm?" she replied
"Is it too soon to say I love you?" he asked
"Not if you mean it." she said
"Seriously? You wouldn't be freaked?" he asked
"Nope. I mean, why would I be freaked? I love you." she said
"You do?" he asked
"Yup." she replied
"Wow. Well, I love you." he said
"And I love you too." she replied
