Nicole Rainey walked out of her office, checking her cell phone. She noticed that she had a text message from her boyfriend Lance. She read it.

Nic, hurry home. I have a surprise for you.

She wondered what the surprise could have been. It wasn't her birthday, or even their anniversary. It was just a regular Friday evening. They didn't have anything planned for the night so she figured that Lance was just being cute and spontaneous. She got in her car and drove home as quickly as she could without breaking any laws. When she got to her apartment, she noticed a note taped to the door.

Nicole smiled. Lance was using one of her favorite Westlife songs. She took the note off the door and folded it carefully before sticking it in her purse for safe keeping. She took out her keys and opened the door. When she stepped into her apartment, the room was dark except for the dim glow of candle light. There was another note on the table.

Good, you're home. Now go sit at the table and turn on the cd.

She did as she was told and walked to the table. She sat before turning on the boom box.

She sat thoughtfully at the table, contemplating what Lance could possibly be up to. She wasn't one for random acts of romance but she loved the fact that Lance was. She didn't really have it in any of her past relationships so she was always amazed at how Lance could just be so charming and loving. She found yet another note on the table. She realized that the note correlated with the part of the song that was playing.

She put the note down and listened to the song.

Just as the chorus was ending, Lance came behind her and pulled her out of her seat. He held her close to him as he sang.

Nicole smiled as the song ended. She moved back a little to look at Lance.

"What was that for?" she asked

"I don't know. I love you and felt like letting you know that." he replied

"You are ao amazing." she said

"No, you are. I love you so much Nic." he said

"I love you too Lance." she replied

They kissed passionately and pulled apart.

"So now what?" she asked

"Let's go out to dinner." he said

"Okay." she agreed

Lance blew out the candles and they walked out of Nicole's apartment hand and hand.
