I was sobbing by the door now. I can�t believe we let each other go. It was my fault�I�m the one who moved to New York�I�m the one who blabbed my mouth�that really put a strain on things. These thoughts all ran through my mind as I stood there crying. I looked up at AJ�he was so lifeless. I just want him to be okay. I don�t care if I can�t ever see him again�I just want him healthy and up onstage doing what he loves. He has so much more life ahead of him�he�s only twenty-seven. I put my hands to my eyes as I cried�I couldn�t bare the thought of knowing I could never hear his voice or see his eyes ever again.
�Excuse me?� someone said interrupting me. I looked up to see an orderly. He smiled at me kindly. �I have to go in and check something.� He said as I moved out of his way. He went into AJ�s room and I watched on. He looked at AJ�s chart and then went over to AJ, kissed his finger and placed it on his forehead. He turned to me and smiled then walked out of the room. �He�ll be fine. Everything happens for a reason.� He said as I looked at his nametag. �Angelo.� He walked down the hall. I looked toward AJ then back down the hallway and the orderly was gone.
I looked back at AJ and his hand started to move. His toes started to move also. I ran to the waiting room. �He�s moving!� I yelled crying and smiling at the same time. Everyone ran past me and over to his room, but I just stood there. Brian noticed and walked over to me.
�Aren�t you coming?� he asked. I shook my head no.
�Why not?� Brian asked.
�I�m sure I�m not the first face he wants to see.� I said sadly.
�Are you sure about that? Well I don�t think that�s true�I think your face is the one he needs to see�Look I never told you this and I know AJ didn�t, but do you remember when AJ and Amanda broke up for good?� he asked. I nodded my head.
�Well, the reason was because of you�do you remember �Yes I Will� you know the one AJ wrote?�
�Of course, I always thought it was the most beautiful song AJ had written.� I said.
�Well do you know who it�s about?� Brian asked.
�I always assumed it was Amanda.�
�Well so did she�but then when she listened to it closely she came to the realization that maybe it was you.� Brian said as I looked up at him.
�What?� I asked.
�It is about you�AJ told me�he said he always thought that you two were meant to be married someday.� Brian said with a big smile. I smiled big and kissed his cheek then hugged him. Denise came running over.
�Miranda, I forgot to give you something�� she said as Brian and I parted from our hug.
�They found AJ with this in his hand�� she said placing the silver ring I had given him. I smiled. �Is he awake?� I asked.
�Not yet�but he�s moving around a lot so that�s a good sign. They�re still not letting anyone in the room though.� Denise said.
�I�m going to go the chapel to say a prayer.� I said as Denise and Brian smiled at me.
I walked into the chapel and there was no one in there. I kneeled down and crossed myself.
I walked back into the waiting room. Everyone was looking at me. �What?� I asked. �They�re letting one person into see him.� Denise said. �So what are you waiting for mom?� I asked. �You.� She said. �What? No, you should go.� I said. �No, Miranda�I think it would help more if you are the one he sees when he wakes up.� She said. I nodded and hugged her.
I walked down the hall to AJ�s room and opened the door. I walked closer to his bed and pulled up a chair. I clasped his hand and sat down.
�Hi AJ�it�s me Randi�I love you and I miss you so much.� I said as a few tears rolled down my face. I began to sing the song �Yes I Will� quietly.
