The army didnt produce any new officers, did not try to modernize tactics or make any attempt to train its troops. Rampant corruption made this almost impossible. The Spanish troops were very unpredictable, making a courageous stand on minute then routing the next. However, in 1793, Spain employed British officers to train Spanish troops and they have bee showing signs of improvement albeit only the test of battle will see thier effectiveness. Navy: 8/10 The monarchy has been increasingly improving the Spanish fleet. Re-fitting aging ships and increase crew training has improved the Spanish fleet greatly from it's original state. However, there is still work to be done. Economy: 7/10 With the redistribution of aristocratic wealth and a crackdown on corruption, the Spanish economy shows signs of revival. |
