My grandfather Claude Bennett Davis married  Novie Terpin.
My Grandfather Davis was born in Georgia of parents Joe Davis  and Sally/Sallie Buffington Davis.
I did find Sallie Davis on several of the rolls.
The Miller roll in 1906 I found a Joe Davis number 15862 and Claude twice with numbers 35145 and 36065. My Grandfather  would have been seven years old.
Sallie Davis I found twice with numbers  36377 and 11272.
My Grandfather was born in Georgia.
My mon was the seventh child born to them and she was born December 1927 in Pickens County, township of Central, South Carolina.
I'm hoping  some of my tribe take up the search.
As I get more information on either Hendrix or Davis I'll add it here and I hope others will let us know when they find anything.
Both names, Hendrix and Davis are on the Dawes roll.
To the right Claud Bennett Davis and Novie Terpin
To the left my son Billy nameed after my dad.
We both got the Davis nose.
I'm trying to link my great grandmother to the Buffingtons that Fort Buffington and Buffington Tavern were  named after. This page shows the early Buffingtons and a link to Tiana Rogers who was  married to Sam Houton and David Gentry.
I'm reading a book by  book,
Walk in my Soul, by Lucia St. Clair Robson,

The Buffingtons were some of the first settlers who bought land. I believe they came from English stock.
