It's always been unspoken, and he can handle that. Except when it's the loudest kind of silence, deafening in his ears, clenching at his heart, impossible to ignore; to pretend his stomach doesn't jump when Tony looks at him, body doesn't quiver when Tony kisses him, holding his face firmly beneath his fingertips and licking at his mouth like he's trying to climb inside.
