Through the Arts

Founded in 1995 thorugh the Cultural Arts Department of Unique Attack, a non-profit children's organization. The Center and program were developed in January 1996. LAAFA providesa positive and conductive learning atmosphere, while combining the arts and education. realizing the importance and need for a community based youth center, the Academy provides individual tutoringand homework assistance for alternative education students in the mornings and performing arts in the afternoon. The morning program is by application only. The 2001-2002 goal of LAAFA is to operate as a full time, tutoring and after scholl center for children and young adults.

The program has grown to include "COMPUED" (our term meaning "computerized education"), a method of learning through computer applied material and software. We have also opened our physical education and drama departments.
