The Risks of Bio-ware.

Bio-ware carries these risks on top of the usual Medical risks involved in any surgery.
A bio-enhancement will suffer an error roughly 10% of the time (1 in 10 chance) though the poorer the surroundings the enhancement are done in, the higher the risk (+5 for each step down from a proper clinic). Use the table below to determine what that 'error' might be. Oh by the way there is a 50% chance that these enhancements will be passed on to any children you have, as they alter your DNA.

Physical Risks.
Die Roll (d20) Result Effects
1-7 Minor Mutation 1d6/3 to 1d3 random stats. Evens bonus to stat, Odds lose points from stat.
8-12 Minor Cancer Cancer develops over 5 year period of time, resulting in a loss of 1 point of REF and BOD per 2 years left untreated.
13 Huntingdon's Disease Leads to dementia, loss of motor control, and eventually death.
14 Leukaemia Bone marrow cancer. As it progresses, the immune system goes haywire and the victim tends to become ill with greater frequency and seriousness.
15-16 Brain Damage The mind is damaged. The character will suffer from an ever-increasing number of psychological problems, developing a new problem every 2d6 months. The shrinks are gonna love you!
17-19 Growth Error The growth of the alteration goes over the top. The enhanced body will cease functioning in 2d6 years. Death takes place over the course of a year, in which the victim will suffer, an ever-growing number of physical problems, from severe pains, to ageing, to loss of motor control and partial paralysis.
20 Serious Growth Error As above, except in a timeframe of weeks rather than years.

Mental and Psychological Risk:
The vast majority, of neurological bio-enhancements carries the risk of some sort of brain damage or mental problems on top of possible physical errors, another 1 in 10 chance of these errors occurring.
1-7 Minor Memory loss. Roll 2d10 as a % and divide the result by 2. I assign one psychological problem per 20% of memory lost.
8-12 Major Memory loss. Roll 2d10 as a % and add 10% to the result.
13 Minor loss of INT. Player losses 2 points of INT
14 Major loss of INT. Player losses 4 points of INT
15 Minor loss of REF. Player losses 2 points of REF
16 Major loss of REF. Player losses 4 points of REF
17 Minor loss of TEC. Player losses 2 points of TEC
18 Major loss of TEC. Player losses 4 points of TEC
19 D4 Psychological problems.
20 2 Psychological problems + 1 Mutation.
