| just to clarify something, i have only read the fellowship and half of the two towers so i can't give a super accurate review. whatever. i read far enough. these books have a really cool plot and excellent writing too. the only bad thing was that there was too much writing. what i read could have easily been sumarized into one book and it would have been just as good. seriously. the book goes something like this: plot, traveling, poem, traveling, plot, traveling, traveling, poem, traveling, poem, plot, poem, plot, traveling, and finally a little more plot. if the elvish poems were cut out, these books wouldn't be as boring and maybe i'd have the energy to finish them. i got to the part where frodo was about to get the hurt put down on him by a giant spider thing and then i paused, stared at the page, put the book down, and walked away realizing that this book was very boring. almost mind nullifyingly boring.....well, not that boring. it was more boring than...um...something...not boring....um, yea. the last movie will be out soon anyway and i know how it ends so maybe possibly there's a chance of me finishing the books but it's unlikely. if you haven't already read these books and you have patience then you should read them but if not, don't waste your time. poon with a spoon out. this page was dedicated to a friend of mine who after reading this will be extremely dissapointed in me. too bad so sad. |
