I have been betrayed
This foundation of trust
Already on shifting sand
Again starts to tremble and crack
I saw the signs
That I have seen thrice before
You cannot hide this
Not from me
I feel the wound reopen
My heart bleeds anew
It had barely healed over
From the last time
I love you more than words can describe
Even as the tears fall
And my heart aches
Again I begin to forgive you
I cannot escape the images
Of you in his arms
In his bed
They haunt my every moment
They will fade
As they have in the past
Becoming less vivid
Easier to dismiss
The pain too will disperse
My heart will stop bleeding
The tears will stop falling
And I will truly smile
I will trust you again
If you will allow it
But for this to happen
You must remain faithful
I hold you closer to me now
For my own protection
As much as for yours
For I can watch you from here
I forgive you again
I may never fully forget
But if you remain true
