NBA DRAFT REVIEW 2005: Apoca-vengeance-mania
The last of the big three in NJ goes off the board.  This is a decent pick as Jefferson is a pretty complete player, though his turnovers killed me last season...as well as his missing half the season.  Is it just me or does Jefferson have no body hair? I guess here is as good a place as any to start rumors of chemotherapy.
Speaking of players that hamstrung my team with injuries last season, here's ol' Larry Hughes.  Fortunately he made up for it by getting like 3 spg last season.  Before the season started, I looked at Larry Hughes' career numbers and decided that a) he's injured a lot and b) his defensive numbers were probably anomaly-ish.  On the other hand, even with a drop off, he contributes in pretty much every category and so he's a solid pick in the 4th round.
Apparently his defense sucks.  His fantasy numbers are great though, so that doesn't matter.  He is 30, but who knows, he could pull a Vlade Divac and be in the league until he's 80.

I didn't like this pick.  The Clippers picked up Mobley and Cassell, and much as I was hating Cassell before the season, those two eat up more shots than...whoever they had at guard spots last season.  Also maggette is one dimensional (scoring) and has two many double consonants for my liking.
I think this was a solid pick, though I would've told dave to get at least one pg or center in the first four rounds as they're harder to come by.  Bosh is one of those fantasy sure things: a stud player stuck in a talent wasteland.  He's also young and virile.  He's already a poor man's Jermaine O'neal.

He looks like that to me.  I dunno.  Terry's frustratingly inconsistent, but is a really solid fantasy option over the course of a season.  Before the season started I had questions about how they'd fit in Terry, Marquis Daniels, Josh Howard and Doug Christie on the same court, but now we all know Christie would just pretty much die soon after the opener.

I think this is a stretch for a center.  Okafor has serious injury issues for a young player and has pretty mediocre shooting percentages and defensive numbers.  Also he's on the Bobcats.  They're gonna be out of a lot of games early and then they'll bench their starters.  Also, there's several centers I like more who are still on the board.
J-Rich has become a much more complete player than I expected.  His first season he was shooting just a tad under 400 and I thought he was going to be one of those sgs with no outside game, but he's gotten a lot better.  Solid pick will.

I think Joe wailed in dismay at this pick.  Oh poor mournful joe.  I hath stolen away thine sweet Camby.  We all know right now Camby is the #1 fantasy player in yahoo.  We also all know that Camby is about as durable as your average Yugo.  Smooth sailing until you crash, burn, fall off a cliff, die, burn some more, get buried by falling rocks and then turn into a habitat for Common Cactus Finches.
I wondered how long the Pheonix evacuees would last.  I was, and am, completely convinced that Joe Johnson and Q-rich are a direct result of almost daily use of the Steve Nash performance enhancing drug, which puts steroids to shame.  Not only that, what the hell is he doing in Atlanta, where they already have like 4 young sg/sfs.  I think for Atlanta, Johnson might have been the worst aquisition possible other than say Allan Houston.

Man where do I start with this guy.  Other than still bringing to mind his rookie year drafting by G.  Oh yeah, he'll get you a double double and 4 turnovers every night....and that's about it.  I hate Zach Randolph with a passion normally reserved for people who think that Verizon commercials are clever.
