This spell is used against gnome, spider and other nasty little creatures to temporarly stun them. You will find this spell very useful when you are trapped in a sicky situation. It is used mainly on Spiders due to the fact that they are so fast and this spell kills them. Here is the wand movement...

If you don't fallow the wrist movement you are not going to be able to successfully shoot out the spell. There are more complexed spells that work better than rictsempra but we are going to start with this for 3rd and 2nd years.
