The Last Days

In many more ways than one, these were the last days. 'nuff said.

The post-exam week started with a Duron-850, 40 GB harddisk, 256MB RAM and a Geforce 2 for me, courtesy of Seah Heap Yong. In layman's terms, I bought a new computer. The amazing thing was, I hardly touched it for the rest of the week.
Lai Gwen organized this chalet in Pasir Ris NTUC for CGs MNOP - that's the bunch of us below.

In contrast to the comfortable, air-conditioned, and quite legal gathering above, the seminar room gang organized a little barbecue, in a nice secluded, rent-free location. See if you can guess it from the next 4 photos.

Give up? Well, I'm not telling you, go figure it out yourself. ;)
Anyway, we had a lot of fun that night, and everything went just right - no rain, no security guard, no fire engines, nobody falling off the roof. Even managed to do some stargazing - Orion, Sirius, Procyon, Gemini.
But starting at the beginning, this was the most unplanned barbecue ever. At 5pm, Elaine, Adrian Loh, and I were only starting our grocery shopping without any list or preparation. Elaine and I ended back up in school by 6pm, where instead of hanging around provoking murderous stares from the M1s and M4s, we decided to donate blood before loading it with fat and cholesterol and charcoal.
Adrian Tan came with the barbecue pit on the dot at 7:30pm, and he quickly set it up and started the fire while we pretended to prepare the food. (I.E. Unwrap the Cold Storage foil bag and take out the roasted chicken (barbecue and black pepper flavour), uncover Er Luen's beehoon, marinate the pre-marinated chicken wings, etc.) We even managed to "borrow" a couple of benches and chairs (plus Heappy brought his field chair), and luckily a couple of us brought torches, so we could barbecue in comfort.
It was a great barbecue as barbecues go - good friends, lovely weather, edible food, pleasant surroundings (library roof tiles were a bit dirty though).

What they doing?
From our barbecue vantage point, I managed to get a few shots of some clowns messing around in the herb garden. Can you guess what they're doing?
Oh! HO!
Well, they formed some silly "M5" at first (which I didn't get a good pic of), then this "HO" crap.
Oh! HO!
And if you look real carefully, you can probably identify some of the idiots. Hmm, that guy looks like me. Nah, can't be. :)

And if that wasn't brave enough, we proceeded to our favourite sculpture. It looks a little funny, but I can't place my finger on it. Hmmm. Anyway, I suspect none of the people below will be getting eye traineeships.

The last days? No my friend, the fun has just begun!
