Ricky's 2 - 2.5 yr old update

December 2006 **Ricky's 31 month update**

Wow Ricky is now 31 months (just over 2.5 yrs old!). He is an amazing little guy with still going on but takes it so well!!

Finally got a diagnosis for his speach delay from the neurologist this month. He has severe oral/motor dyspraxia (verbal dyspraxia). Expressively he is still hovering around the 12-14 month mark, which is severely delayed, and receptively he is more 18 months so its moderately delayed.

Gross motor wise he is at 18 month level and fine motor is 20-24 months, he is almost at par in terms of fine motor, so that's good news! He has pretty severe oral sensory issues too, which tie in with the dyspraxia diagnosis.

Ricky is loving his special needs preschool that he goes to Thurs. and Fri. mornings. The do alot of gross motor activities and music therapies as well try to help him with his speach, and ofcourse work on his fine motor.

He goes to occupational and physio therapists every 2 weeks, which is paid for by the government. I also pay for monthly private speach therapy. Hoping to get subsidies for that in the comming months and I will increase that to every two weeks then when he is three increase it to weekly.

Healthwise he has been doing pretty good. No more ear infections since the tubes were put in back in April.. and I am soooo thrilled about that!! Yay! and at last check (a month ago) they are still in place and not moving!

Anyway so that is the latest. Will update again in the new year!

Happy Holidays to everyone!!
