Well mr. Ricky has come along way since he was 10 months... for starters he now "army crawls" - gets around by pushing himself on his elbows while his legs slither behind :) He still cannot bear weight on his knees but its a progress - a major progress - and I think actual crawling will come withing the next few months... finally!!
Ricky started to sit (had to be put into this position) on his own by 11 months, but then he needed his brace for his back and we were back to square one due to the weight of the brace. Finally he is getting more comfortable with it and the sitting is on its way back now, though still not getting into sitting position. We are getting there though, slowly but surely!! :)
Though still not talking (babbling), he is starting to make some sounds, but not alot... mostly still very quiet but he expresses alot with his eyes and facial expressions, and that helps alot :)
He loves to clap his hands...and wave bye bye!! He has done this for about 2 months now :)
Now he has OT and PT once a month at the hospital and infant stimulation weekly at home, plus we are followed by the orthopedic surgeon every 3 months, the neurologist every 2 months, and his pediatrician every 3-4 months too.
Test wise we are having a EMG (muscle test) done in August, we are awaiting the results of the genetic testing which should come in over the summer, and also the MRI and a 2nd CT scan.....
Overall he is getting there, just ever so slowly. My little prince is a fighter and a very special boy who, I pray, will become this wonderful, fully active, normal little boy in the years to come :)
More updates soon!! :)
Hugs, Laura
