On Wednesday, August 23, 2000 we did the hardest thing we have ever had to do. My poor Thia was almost totally unable to move due to her tumor in the mammory gland. Her back leg was so swollen that she couldn't bend it. The Rimadyl wasn't helping any more. The vet said it was time. He said she was in pain, and the tumor was compromising the circulation in her leg. So, at the age of 11, Thia was gently escorted to the Rainbow bridge. Our tears flowed enough for a river to transport her.
We brought her home and laid her body to rest down by our beach where she had romped happily through her life. Her pain had ended, but ours had just begun.
My Sunshine
Almost eleven years ago today, you were my ray of light. Even though I was hurting from loss, You came into our lives and into our hearts.
My little bundle of blonde fur quickly became my shadow. and gave nothing but love wholeheartedly. You always tried so hard to please.
A fantastic mother you became, and gave us more joy. Scared us half to death when you were sick after. But then all was well again.
No better love could be had anywhere in the world, and for all of that I thank you so. & for all the good times we shared.
I thank you for the precious gift of your puppies. In Tessie a part of you lives on. And I will always treasure that.
So as you play up at the Bridge, I want you to know That I'll always love you so.
And none will ever have the kisses sweeter than wine like you!!! |
