While cleaning out my notebook of computer tips, passwords, and assorted notes on things that I no longer have to have directions for, I came across a bit of memorabilia .... the printed- out very first edition of Chatback! (All four pages!)
Edition No. 1, dated Oct, 3, 2000, was created by our dear friend, Brizzee, from Australia. It was a short edition and included the 'news' that Tearlach and his wife Caitlin were off on a holiday back home to Ireland.
Ellen was off the the Bahamas and DollE had moved across town.
Dots and Bob had attended a 'garage warming' and enjoyed lots of good food and a bit of square dancing.
Silly Grammy and Pooch had biographical paragraphs included and Nunzio had a picture of himself and some of his family.
Brizzee announced that a message board had been added in case anyone wished to post a message but I can't recall whether anyone ever did.
"Petey", the dog who lurked in the chat room had his graphic at the bottom of that first newsletter! (I can remember that Petey was not always well-behaved!)
When the press of Brizzee's radio career and business obligations forced him to discontinue editing the newsletter, jeanm took over very capably. When she had to give up her editorship, Char stepped into the breech, followed soon by Dusty.
There have been a lot of changes, innovations, and additions to the newsletter in these past almost 4 years. Today we have music, backgrounds, animations, guest books, regular contributors, and things to appeal to all tastes. I say we all owe a debt of thanks to the pioneer and those who have continued our newsletter. Thanks, guy, and dolls!
