I'm a bird-watcher from way back and this particular male cardinal has been a steady visitor year-round for a couple of years. (Sure they all look alike, but I have a personal relationship with THIS bird!)

     Last winter, he looked like a hippy with a black dog collar around his neck. Whether it was studded like a killer-dog's would be, I can't say.

     However, by the time spring came, the poor bird had only one orange feather where his crest should be! Now, even that is gone.

     'Ole Baldy' is happy, sings, eats, bathes, and has a girl friend. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

     So, fellas, if you have a receding hairline or a shiny skull, don’t give up hope. Somebody will love you!
