Y2Jesus’ Guide to Using GSBot What is GSBot? GSBot (Gold/Silver Bot) is a Pokemon Battle Simulator scripted on mIRC by David Johnson (Fanha). How to get it. First off, you -will- need an IRC client. Any client will do, but it is a necessity. PC Users: Go to www.mirc.com Click on “Download mIRC” Now, from the list of locations, choose the one nearest to you. The version now counts, as all previous ones have a vulnerability. Once the download is complete, extract the file (mirc612.exe) into c:\mIRC. Open the folder c:\mIRC, and click on mIRC.exe. Mac Users: Go to http://www.chipersoft.com/athena/ Click on “Downloads” Choose the download depending on your OS Now, since I’ve never used a Mac, I can’t guide you from here. However, the general instructions should be similar to that of mIRC, so it shouldn’t be too difficult. Linux Users: Go to http://www.femaledogx.com (pokes censors) Click on “Download FemaledogX” Choose whichever download you want As noted on the site, you’ll have to compile it yourself Setting up mIRC Open mIRC.exe A stupid dialog will pop up that you cannot get rid of unless you register (hint: mirc key generator). After closing that dialog, another one pops up. In the top-middle of this dialog is the text “IRC Network” next to a drop down list. Next to this is a button labeled “Add”. Click on this button. Another dialog will pop up. For “Description”, put whatever you want . Now, “IRC Server” is very important. You’ll be using this every time you connect to IRC, so if you stuff it up it’ll never work. Put this in the IRC server area irc.your-irc.net For “Port”, just put in 6667. Now click “Add”, and you’re finished. The rest does need filling in (Full Name, Email, Nickname, Alternative). Your full name and/or email don’t need to be real. The nickname is the nickname that you’ll use while chatting, and the alternative is there in case your nickname is already in use. Close this dialog, and click on File -> Connect. Immediately after connection, another dialog will pop up. This is really bloody annoying, so click on “Pop up folder on connect” then close the stupid thing. Thar, you are now connected to mIRC and ready to battle. The Channels #battlearena – The place where you battle. #pokebattle – The longest lasting Pokemon channel. #rsbot – Main chatting channel. #pokesyndicate – The main GameFAQs channel Using the Bots /Join #Battlearena #battlearena is not as popular anymore, so you can speak freely in the channel. In the nicklist, double click on one of the bots MetallicBot/PimpBot/HolyBot/LuckBot The first thing I recommend you do is register your nickname, then account on the bots. To register your nickname: /ns register password email To register your account: /msg MetallicBot lock password Once you’ve registered your nickname, every time you use it you need to type in /ns identify password Once you’ve locked your account, you need to login to use most of it’s features. To login, /msg MetallicBot login password Making a Team To make a team, you need to message the bots using the command makepoke. The syntax is makepoke slot nickname species item move1 move2 move3 move4 i.e makepoke 1 Yurika Jynx Leftovers Psychic Ice_Beam Lovely_Kiss Substitute Note that all caps were replaed by an underscore _. Your team is obviously made up of 6 Pokemon, but your roster can contain 30 per nickname. To View Your Team Easy, just message the bot with viewteam. To Delete Your Team Again, easy, just message the bot with delteam. Using the Roster If you have your 6 Pokemon, and just want to add a Pokemon to your roster, you’d use addpoke. The syntax is; addpoke nickname species level item move1 move2 move3 move4. As mentioned before, your roster can have 30 Pokemon stored. To change your current 6 Pokemon, you must use the formteam command. Say I wanted my team to be 1/5/14/16/20/28, I would type; Formteam 1,5,14,16,20,28 To view your entire roster, type viewrost. To delete one Pokemon from your roster, type delrost number. To delete the entire thing, type delrost. If you want to delete Pokemon 1, 2 and 3, you can type delrost 1-3. If you want to delete Pokemon 1,3 and 4, you can type delrost 1,3,4. If you don’t remember the number, but nickname, you can type delrost nickname. Battling After your team is ready, you obviously want to start battling. To challenge someone, message the bot with battle nickname text-colour background-colour. To view these colours, type control+k. Example; Battle Skarm 7 1 As you see in the box (control + k), 7 represents orange and 1 represents black. So my battles colours would be orange on black. This is just so your battle is easier to notice. Try not to use the same colours as another person, as it’ll get confusing. If you were challenged, you can type ~ yes to accept, or ~ no to decline. During the Battle When the battle starts, the bot will message you with something like this: (MetallicBot) Jynx (JYNX F L100) - 333/333 (MetallicBot) 1=ICE_BEAM(16) - 2=PSYCHIC(16) - 3=LOVELY_KISS(16) - 4=SUBSTITUTE(16) To attack, I would type ! number of attack. As you can see above, Ice Beam is 1. If I wanted to use Ice Beam, I’d type ! 1. To switch, you would type # slot. If you are unsure of your Pokemon’s slots, type batstat. Something like this will show up: (Y2Jesus) batstat (MetallicBot) You: Sandslash (SANDSLASH M L100) @LEFTOVERS - HP: 353/353 - PP: 16-15-48-32 (MetallicBot) Opponent: Lapras (LAPRAS M L100) - HP: 77% (MetallicBot) 1: Jynx (JYNX F L100) @LEFTOVERS - HP: 333/333 - PP: 16-16-16-16 (MetallicBot) 2: Raikou (RAIKOU L100) @LEFTOVERS - HP: 383/383 - PP: 24-24-16-16 (MetallicBot) 4: Skarmory (SKARMORY M L100) @LEFTOVERS - HP: 323/333 - PP: 32-15-31-16 (MetallicBot) 5: Suicune (SUICUNE L100) @LEFTOVERS - HP: 341/403 - PP: 23-31-16-16 (MetallicBot) 6: Blissey (BLISSEY F L100) @LEFTOVERS - HP: 713/713 - PP: 8-16-24-47 If I wanted to switch to Blissey, I’d type # 6. If you do well in your battle, or would just like to have a copy of it, you can search for the log. You can either type logsearch and search through the entire days battles, or you can type logsearch thenickyoubattledon Example: (Y2Jesus) logsearch Jetspeed (MetallicBot) 30:STANDARD MATCH - Jetspeed VS invisibl - Start 03:52 - End 04:04 - Score 3-0 - WIN by Jetspeed (MetallicBot) 47:STANDARD MATCH - Jetspeed VS cursedgenie - Start 09:14 - End 09:19 - Score 4-0 - WIN by Jetspeed (MetallicBot) 49:STANDARD MATCH - Jetspeed VS Sergio1337X - Start 09:43 - IN PROGRESS To get the log, you type getlog no.oflog Example: Getlog 30 This would send me the log of Jetspeed vs invisibl To exit a battle, you’d type exit. If you are losing, and you quit, you will most certainly get flamed. You were warned. Other Commands If you want Hidden Power Bug on your Pokemon, you’ll have to edit the DVs of that Pokemon. The command is applyhp, and the syntax is applyhp type slot. i.e applyhp bug 3 If you want to edit the DVs, but not for a HP, the command is dv. The syntax is dv attack defense speed special slot So if I wanted a Vaporeon which was in slot 3 with 1 Attack DV (to change it into a female), I’d type dv 1 15 15 15 3. As I said above, most Pokemon require a Attack DV of 7 or less to become Female. Eeveelutions need a 1. To find out the stats of a Pokemon, type stats level Pokemon. i.e stats 100 Jynx If you just type stats Pokemon, it will bring up the base stats of that Pokemon. If you wanted to check to see if a move was legal on a Pokemon, you’d type learnset Pokemon. Common Rules Most people you come across will use these rules and probably expect you to use them as well: Sleep Clause - No more then one Pokemon put to sleep at any time (using Rest does not count, and Sleep Talking Rest voids Sleep Clause) Species Clause - No more then one Pokemon of the same sort in one team (use different Pokemon, not 6 Snorlaxes). Oober Ban - No Mewtwo, Ho-oh, Lugia, Mew or Celebi. OHKO Ban - No Fissure/Horn Drill/Guillotine, if you use one at least have the decency to tell your opponent. Evasion Clause/Ban - Either no more then one Double Teamer or none at all. Sand Attack/Mud Slap are acceptable. Kamikaze Clause - Don't use Perish Song/Selfdestruct/Explosion on your last Pokemon. GP Clause - Quit the battle without a legitimate reason and you're a faggot.
