This is the page where there are cool things to make for your horse and that dont cost much at all!
Fly Fringe:
You'll need some lengths of string for this. You can use baler twine if there is nothing else available, but better still, raid your mums workbox for scraps of wool.Even dads garden twine will do. Cut 6 long strips-about 3ft each-and knot them all together,6 inches from one end.Using double strands, make a plait that measures the width of your pony's forehead (check it against his browband to be sure).Make a knot at the end of the plait.Leave another 6 inches after the knot and trim off the excess.

Now you need to decide how long the fringe should be.It must hang down beyond the pony's eyes or it might damage them, but it doesn't want to reach the mouth otherwise it wll get eaten! When you have decided on the length (which will depend on the size of your pony), double it and then cut 5 or 6 more pieces of this length.Fold each one in half, put the loop beyond the plaited section and pull the loose ends through.

Repeat this with all the strands, then tie a double knot at the bottom of each strand to keep it hanging down. With the free ends on each side of the plait, attach to your pony's bridle or headcollar for fly-free days!
