The Ponti-Wreck

This car is for sale. No reasonable offer refused, I'll sell it cheap as I'm over the whole artcar thing and need the space for other projects. It runs great as I've kept it in top running condition and garaged for many years. Please e-mail me if you have any questions.

This is my Artcar the Ponti-Wreck. It is a 84’ Pontiac Sunbird J2000, a mechanical nightmare of a car; 80’s GM very bad!! As you can see, it is covered with toys and the interior is covered with stuffed animals. I used to have some stuffed animals on the outside but someone didn’t like it and decided to light it on fire. I kept the original theme of the toys and did a total re-build, I think the second version was much better than the first. I’m in the LA area and take it out for a spin every other week. I want it to last so I have a more reliable car for daily driving. I have had my car in a magazine add and several car shows and other events. It’s available for parties, shows, events, etc. Just get in contact with me via E-mail and I’ll get back to you. Enjoy the car!

This Project was spawned mainly out of boredom. Now I’m so busy I hardly have time to enjoy it anymore. I would usually spend about an hour on it every couple of days, I haven’t spent any time on it in almost a year. I plan to do more to it in the future, finish the interior and spruce up the outside of the car. It’s real heavy and gets crappy gas mileage due to the weight and wind drag. I need to put heavy duty shocks on it and really sturdy tires to make it safe to drive long distances. I’ve driven it 400 miles to the San Francisco Art Car Fest, it broke down once the way there and on the way back. The last couple of time I went, I towed it. I would have rather have driven it but I don’t trust it to make a long trip. I use an industrial adhesive called Liquid Nails to glue all the stuff on, it looks like peanut butter. Many people in the Art Car community like to use silicon but I prefer the peanut butter looking stuff-it’s about a fifth of the cost of silicon and bonds better. After the fire, I had to take all the upholstery out because it stank real bad. I tore all the stuffing of the chairs and reupholstered them with stuffed animals. I think the "plush" interior is much better than the stock one.
