SCALLOPED CHICKEN & PASTA
Yields 4
1/4 cup margarine or butter, divided
1 pkg. (6.2 oz.) Pasta Roni Shells & White Cheddar
2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
2/3 cup milk
2 cups chopped cooked chicken or ham
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
Preheat oven to 450.  In 3-qt. saucepan, combine 2 1/4 cups water and 2 tbsp. margarine.  Bring just to a boil.  Stir in pasta and frozen vegetables.  Reduce heat to medium.  Boil, uncovered, stirring frequently, 12-14 minutes or until most of water is absorbed.  Add Special Seasonings, milk and chicken.  Continue cooking 3 minutes.  Meanwhile, melt remaining 2 tbsp. margarine in small saucepan; stir in bread crumbs.  Transfer pasta mixture to 8- or 9- inch square glass baking dish.  Sprinkle with bread crumbs.  Bake 10 minutes or until bread crumbs are browned and edges are bubbly.
