CHEESY BEEF CASSEROLE
Yields 6
4 cups uncooked medium egg noodles
1 lb. ground beef
3/4 cup chopped onion
2 cans (8 oz. each) tomato sauce
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 cup small-curd cottage cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/3 cup sliced green onions
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
Additional Parmesan cheese, optional
Cook noodles according to pkg. directions.  Meanwhile, in a skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.  Add tomato sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper.  In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, cottage cheese, Parmesan, onions and green pepper.  Drain the noodles; place half in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-in. baking dish.  Top with half of the meat and cheese mixtures.  Repeat layers.  Sprinkle with additional Parmesan if desired.  Cover and bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until heated through.
