1968 Chrysler Newport Custom 2-dr hardtop

FLAMES! My custom paint job.

Dying the Interior: turquoise to black
lots of junk in the trunk
This is how I brought it home, Oct 19th, 2001.

How it looks now- 5/25/02

New Yorker grille and painted bumper extensions, lowered 2", 15X7 cop wheels with 255/60/15 in front and 275/60/15 in rear. 3.23 Sure-Grip, painted satin black with flames, of course.

After my New Yorker suffered some electrical fires and hits from BMW's, I decided it was time to replace it.

This car had a great running 383/2bbl but I pulled it in favor of the 440, of course. The original 2.76 open rear end blew up (I wonder how that happened????) so I put the 3.23 SG in. Now, the trans needs rebuilt because it slips like mad, but of course I have a spare one of these as well.

This car is a myriad of parts from a:

68 Fury III (Seats, and misc. interior parts) - thanks AJ!
68 New Yorker parts stash
1970 Challenger (3.23 SG)
and my beloved 68 New Yorker. RIP.

Nasty!Much Better!

600 miles and one weekend later..... new seats!

Have some TNT

The original 383 ran like a champ, but was pulled in favor of the 440 I rebuilt from my 68 New Yorker.

Installing the front disk brakes and swapping trannies are next on the list of things to do mechanically.

Body wise, the car has recievied an unmolested driver's door, will get some minor rust/dent repair and paint job if I ever get tired of the bad-ass image. (Not likely!) I have yet to determine the color I will use, but am leaning towards the green color that my New Yorker was.
