I should first apologize for not getting out the word for my last endeavor out in Concord  ("Sunrise at Campobello"). I know times are tough right now, and the economy stinks, but for the two of you came out anyway, it sort of reminded me that I really should leave it up to you.  So...that said...

Atticus-Allen Pontes & Scout-Devon Hayakawa
Scout Finch  lives with her brother, Jem, and their widowed father, Atticus, in the sleepy Alabama town of Maycomb.  Maycomb is suffering from the Great Depression, but Atticus gets by as a prominent lawyer which sets his little family slightly apart from the "country folk" where the depression hits hardest.  To the consternation of Maycomb's racist white community, Atticus agrees to defend a black man named Tom Robinson who has been accused of raping a white woman.  Facing the ridicule and abuse that soon follows, Scout and Jem learn something important about growing up.  As Atticus tells Jem, "Courage is knowing your licked even before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what.  You rarely win, but sometimes you do."  And then there's Boo Radley...without giving the rest away, lets just say that in all the lessons in life to be learned, Scout finds that there is goodness in all people--once you finally see them, and that trust is the most important lesson to learn in growing up..
