Amanda was getting ready for her wedding, and had the misfortune to be attended by a Terran who knew nothing about Vulcan culture, although that didnīt prevent him expressing extensive opinions about it.
Amanda endured this for the hours it took to prepare her clothing, hair and face, but when she was fully groomed and sat examining her hairdo for last-minute details, he made such an infuriating joke about Surak that she dropped and broke her mirror.
"Seven years bad luck," he snickered. "Like you didnīt already have that."
She hit him on the head with the mirror frame.
