DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
Death Valley National Park in Eastern California has more than 3.3 million acres of spectacular desert scenery. Badwater is the lowest point (282 feet below sea level) in the western hemisphere. Designated a National Monument in 1933, it became a National Park in October 1994 and 95% of the park was designated a Wilderness on the same date.
