Went to University of Florida where Jimmy Stinson and I were very close friends and SAE fraternity bothers.
Remained friendly with Grace Hinson during her tenure there.
Jimmy and I each married sorority sisters. My wife's name (still married to her 46 yrs.
now) is Ellen. I went on to law school at UF and loved it. I did well and was offered a job by Marshall
Criser in the Town of Palm Beach. I've been with what is now known as Gunster, Yoakley ever since.
Marshall became Pres. of U.F. some years ago. There were 3 young lawyers, of which I was one out of a
total of 7 in the mid 60's, that lead the firm to over 150 attorneys located today in Miami,
Ft Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Stuart, and Vero. The firm has a rather well thought of
reputation in Florida and to a degree about the country.
Along the way came two daughters. Susan is a lawyer/commercial real estate developer living in McLean ,Va.
with husband and 3 children. Amy became a horse vet.
Both went to U.F undergraduate and graduate school. Amy is now director of medicine for Boehringer-Ingelheim,
a German pharmaceutical company with U.S. head quarters in Connecticut where she lives with a husband who is
the town's small animal vet and 2 children.
Horses entered the picture a little over 30 yrs. ago. They became my passion. It started with barrel racing
and rodeo, and transitioned into racing and riding show jumpers. I had a horse farm named Bourbon House in
the bluegrass of Ky.(Lexington) for 15 yrs. Sold it recently and have a house in the historic part of downtown
Lexington and spend about 5 months a year (the good weather months) there. My primary residence still is in Palm Beach.

ON MY HORSE GUMBO
I pretty much retired from law practice 10 years ago. Some would say that I started "semi-retiring" long before
that. But I'm still "of counsel" to the firm.
Life has been eclectic, interesting, and good....and continues in that vein. Occasionally I write short stories.
Some of them call upon life in the 50's in Pompano. Ken Werk can attest to that.
