Strickland, Shelva Jean (Shiver)

Shelva Jean Shiver, 49, of Seffner, died Thursday of natural causes. She was a resident of the Tampa
Bay area since 1971, moving from Pompano Beach. She was a clerk typist at the University of South
Florida and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by one son, Mark Worth Shiver of the U.S. Army;
one daughter, Theresa Melvin of Springhill; one brother, Eldred Strickland of Waycross, Ga.; one sister,
Bertie Hutchison of Lakeland; and one grandchild. Funeral services will
be held 10 a.m. Monday at the Stowers Brandon Chapel. The family will receive friends Sunday from
2:30 until 4 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contribution be made
to the Hospice of Hillsborough County. Stowers Funeral Home, Brandon.
