I went to work one week after graduation at Pompano Beach Abstract Co. where I stayed 5 years until a big opportunity came and I made a "Big Move" to North Hollywood, California. My friend Marty Lefever was going there with her grandparents and said why don't you come too, so I gave it a lot of thought having never been anywhere but Florida and Georgia and said "why not"!! So 6 months after Marty had gotten there and was working for Capitol Records her Aunt was working for an Insurance company and they needed summer time help and said I could have the job. Off I went, my folks drove me and my "Stuff" out there and I loved the experience. WOW, what a change from Little Town to The Big City...The job lasted 6 months and then I moved on to a much bigger company, but had to ride a City bus and even had to change buses twice, that in itself was an experience since the only bus I had ever been on was the school bus or a chartered Band Bus for school trips. Of course I made it and eventually Marty and I pooled our dollars together and bought a clunker of a car to share, one week I dropped her off at Capitol Records and the next week she would drop me off at work... After a year there I was lucky to get a great job with Appel-Slaten Land Development Company. They bought the E.L. Cord Estate (EL Cord car family). They tore down that beautiful home and sub-divided it. But before they did they held a big Hollywood type party and everyone that was anyone at that time was there. I got to work in the Coat Room and got to see movie stars, wow, was I excited...fun. fun.. My Mom got sick and they sent me home to help out, paid my way and kept my job for 6 weeks, great bunch of men. Was there until the firm split up and I went with one of the men and he started his own business.

Saundra Moore moved out and shared an apartment with Marty and me and when they each got married I roomed with a gal that I met at the first job I had in Calif. Then Janet Venuti moved from Boston to live with Sandy and me. A couple years later Janet and I decided to move to Atlanta, Ga. It was booming then and she got a job at the Hilton Hotel and I was at a bank.. Was only there about 6 months and the guy I had dated for several years decided he wanted to get married, I said yes, and oh my what a big mistake, but I headed to Pompano to plan a wedding and he came from Calif. and off we went back to California. I already knew I had made a mistake, but figured I best try and make it work. 3 years later we divorced. I was then working for Signal Oil Company in Los Angeles and in 1971 the company moved all employees that wanted to move to Houston. All the oil companies were head-quartering there at that time. I was there 3 years when Joe Mott came thru and looked me up. Next thing I knew it was 1975 and we were getting married. I became an instant step-mother of an 11 & 13 year old boy and girl. They lived with us and we all got along very well.. We now have a 15 year old grandson Devin. I did not work for a while, but missed it so went to work part time for Wordens Craft Store and really liked that. Soon thereafter Joe, Mike and Alan formed Triple M Seafood and I worked in the office several years.

When we got married Joe did a lot of duck and dove hunting with his buddies, he wanted me to join them...SO I learned to be a hunter. Loved the dove hunting best, but there is something about those early mornings when the sun comes up and everything comes to life was pretty special. We have always had dogs to hunt with and that's what really makes hunting fun, just watching the dogs work...We had a brittney for dove hunting, he didn't like the ducks but didn't want to get left at home when duck season started. We have had 4 golden retrievers, the best dogs, one lived to be 14. Now we are on the 3rd and 4th ones that are 12 and 6. Also have a wire haired terrier and a shih-tzu (luckily we live on an acre).

When Joe was fishing for Mr. Schubot (McDonalds Corp.) on the "Blacklash" I got to travel a good bit with him on trips to Brazil, Nicaragua, Hawaii, Bimini & Cozumel, to make arrangements for when they would go back fishing in those areas. I had a blast. We went for 2 summers to Destin, Florida and the boss rented 5 apts for the whole crew and families for 6 weeks and that was really a good time for everyone. Now Joe is retired and we live in Lorida, Florida on Lake Istokpoga. A great spot.

For 18 years we owned a cabin in Rainy River on Lake of the Woods, Ontario, Canada that we went to duck and grouse hunting. The last few years we stayed 3 months until the Bay froze and we could not get out hunting anymore. We sold our place there this past summer as the trip was getting to be too much for Joe now that he has Parkinsons. But I can say his fishing and hunting days took us some interesting places and we have no regrets and nothing but great memories. All in all life has been good to us..

Looking forward to seeing all of you that can make it to our 50th Reunion...Those that can't , your gonna miss a good time..
