History of
Danger
Danger was born Dangereuse Michaela Devereaux.  She was a bright, loving, intelligent child and sought joy in everything.  Unfortunately the joy left Danger when she lost both her parents as a teenager.  She had no siblings and little other family.  Little other family that cared anything for her, at any rate.
Danger left home, full of hopes and naivets that many found the opportunity to prey upon.  It took only one incidence of betrayal for Danger to realize that all she came across were not as they seemed.
I speak of a Vampire named Raven Blackmoor.  He was beautiful, with long black hair and eyes to match and as evil as he was charming.  He found Danger in a Tavern, quietly sitting alone, drawing and having an evening meal.  Her innocence shown through immediately and it became a game for Raven to seduce her and take that innocence.
Raven introduced himself to Danger in a flourish of bows and gentle persuasions.  She invited him to sit and have a drink with her.  He wooed her with sweet words and dazzling smiles, eager to convince her of his sincerity.  He revealed what he was to Danger, a Vampire and wove a tale of woe and loneliness that touched her heart.
Before the night touched the morning, he had taken Danger's innocence and her blood for the first time.  She believed him to be sincere and vowed to take the sadness from his eyes.  What Danger did not know... was that the sadness was a farce and the only emotion that the evil Raven Blackmoor possessed was vicious hate.
When Raven had roughly taken Danger's innocence and sated his bloodlust, he barked out a cold harsh laugh that chilled her soul and told her to be gone from him when he arose for the night or he would kill her.  Stunned and hurt, Danger refused to believe that he could possibly mean those words.  She fell asleep on the bed beside the room that he slept in, hoping that he would have changed his mind when he awoke.
The next thing Danger knew, she was being shaken awake and the sound of feminine laughter branded into the deepest part of her heart.  Raven stood beside the bed with a beautiful and obviously more worldly woman, laughing at the young innocent that he had used.
Danger's heart was shattered and she scrambled off the bed to gather her things.  Raven appeared in front of her wagging his finger in her face.  His words still rang in her heart, even today.  "No no no my innocent little one, I gave you opportunity to leave last night.  'Tis too late now, your fate has been decided."  With those words, he jerked Danger to him, viciously bit into the tender flesh of her neck and drained the life from her body.  When he was done, he tossed her into a heap on the floor and left with his 'companion'.
The next thing Danger remembered was a beautiful witch, who she only knew as Winsome, feeding her warm broth and bathing her brow with a damp cloth.  Her heart wrenched with the pain of what the beautiful Vampire had done to her.  Winsome held her tenderly as she sobbed, her heart shattered into pieces.
Winsome took care of Danger until she was whole again, at least physically whole and taught Danger the ways of the witch, bestowing on her minimal powers and a predilection for the element of Fire.  The more Danger learned, the harder her heart became and a determination, nay... an obsession for revenge took over her thoughts.
When Danger was well enough to travel, she set out, giving Winsome her undying devotion and thanks for saving her life.  Her steps took her back to the home of Raven Blackmoor and she waited until morning to seek her revenge.  As he slumbered, she slipped into his home, stood over the bed that he slept in, tears of loss slipping silently down her cheeks.  Loss of innocence, loss of faith in humanity, loss of her own self respect.       Danger held the tip of the stake over his heart and silently whispered for the God that she already believed had deserted her, to forgive her.  As she started to plunge the stake into his cold heart, Raven's eyes sprang open to see that Danger was the one to end his cold, hateful life.  Paralyzed and unable to fight, Raven watched while Danger lifted a sword and took his head.
Danger left that night and wandered alone and broken until she found Anger, a friend that she now considered Sister.  She had hopes of finding laughter and camaraderie and maybe even ... love but with each day that passes and each betrayal more clear, she has lost the faith that she is worthy of more than just heartache.  A brief affair with a dashing assassin, a broken engagement to a demon and a misguided romance with an insane vampire have led her to believe that her judgment is not all it should be.
With a new scar on her forehead to remind her of the second Vampire's betrayal and a cold empty gaze, Danger goes through the motions, smiles when she should but grows... more despondent with every breath.

A new land, a new city and new friends await the lithe young beauty in the Big Easy but no one truly knows the depth of her pain.  She misses the people that she had grown to call family but hopefully this new life will be what she needs to restore ... hope.  Such a simple word...
