1 William Pomeroy of Collaton Devon, esq and Andrew Pomeroy, esq, son and heir apparent of the said William

William Pomeroy and his brother John were in dispute over an inheritance.   William Pomeroy was the plaintiff, John the defendant and the dispute was over a title to a barton (home farm) and demesnes of Collaton in  the  parish of Newton Ferrers. Calendar of Proceedings in Chancery in the reign of Queen Elizabeth 1(1558-1603)

William Pomeroy born about 1548 married Mary Bevill, before 1588, she  was daughter of John Bevill and Elizabeth Milliton. (John Bevill was a Sheriff of Cornwall and son of Peter Bevill and Philippa Beare, Elizabeth from the  Milliton family of Meavy and Pengersick Castle.  Pirates and wicked men!  
(Mary's brother Phillip Bevill married and had a daughter Elizabeth, who married Sir Barnard Grenville, Their children included Sir Richard Grenville and Sir Beville Grenville who played such an important part in  the defence of Cornwall in the Civil War 1642-1652.)
