Polydendri Folklore & Cultural Association of Attica is a Greek, folklore, music and dance group. It consists of 100 members. The dancers are amateurs, aged 7 to 50. The Cultural Association is represented in folk dance festivals by a superb traditional dance group, which every year performs in different places during cultural exchange visits in Greece and abroad. It is a mixed group of about 30 persons, dancers and musicians, which performs excellent Greek dances of all the geographical regions of Greece. Recently, it took part at the Varna's Folklore Festival (Bulgaria, 2003), in Sardegna's (Italy, 2004) Folk Mediterranean Festival, in Nice's (France, 2005) "Festival Mediterranean de Folklore", in Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt, 2006), in Portugal (2007), Prague (2008), Malaga Spain: presentation at the International Dance Congress C.I.D. (2009), where the group received the best comments. Much of the group' s work has been broadcasted in Greek television (channels: ALPHA & ET3) In addition, every September the Polydendri's dance team holds a traditional celebration in Polydendri during which various dance groups from all over Greece and other countries as well, present their traditional music and dances. The teacher of the team is Mr. Yiannis Gantzias, who has been educated at the Athens University and has a high teaching experience in the Greek dances and music. He is also experienced in the field of international folk dances and generally, he is follower of any traditional initiative.
