Im Not Seeking Attractiveness The arrow from the eyes That startles my Heart That often glossy cover A millimeter thin A bone shape that fits Our current cultures Definitions of beauty I know from my Experience That these features and Feelings are transient Short lived changing Residuals from our Traditions Training Habits Fears From our previous world Of Only Just One From my experience I have ceased to revere To remain a captive of The myth of the Romantic Ideal And its mantra of The beautiful But I know that I have Sufficient stores of Care and concern for More Than Just One Intimate Friend
I Am Seeking Your Laughter I want to experience Your vision of life And your humor will Tell all Will we share the Same foibles the Same constraints Of insanity Will we see the same Sillinesses that comprises Most of our lives I hope so I Am Seeking Your Mind We live in our minds They contain our values Our ideals our dreams I wonder if ours might Be similar What a wondrous gift Of chance (or synchronicity) That could mean there Might be yet others Added to my life Im Not Seeking Your Lust I have no lust remaining For you for anyone I no longer live in a World of sensual scarcity Lust has no role in my Sensual abundance
But I enjoy the touchings The warmth the rising Tensions the moments Of release when sometimes You feel you may have Almost touched a soul And I enjoy the aftermaths The shelter of closeness To my Others the clasp of A hand in our darkness I Am Seeking Your Friendship We each and all have one Precious asset in our lives ... The asset without which There are no others If you and your Other Will share your time With me and my Other My living our living Will be more pleasant More exciting More bountiful More fulfilling More Alive I know you must allocate Your time with economics With children with family With your Twosum Perhaps even with sorrow And pain I do as well But our genetic tentacles have Been extended to the pool of All life now is the time to Extend our roots
My wish is that if we Could become friends Intimate Friends That we assume a Tithe for our time That we allocate a Small portion of that Remaining to our Togetherness Four at a time Three at a time Two at a time Does it matter Among Friends We will talk We will dance We will laugh We will cry We will touch We will moan We will create Fond memories We will create Fond dreams for The tomorrows If this could be in our Lives then in our Times together each Must promise to say A thank you to the Chance that out of The billions our Paths could have Crossed and for the Wisdom we found To forego the fears and the surfaces What a Strange 'Grace' For a Restaurant Dinner
