| FHL Recap - Thurs., Sep. 14th, 2006 Participants - Tommy, Maciej, Robbie, Patrick, Neil, Peter, Alex D., Moyra and Chloe. Offensive Player of the Game - Tommy; Fired in 20 plus goals. Defensive Player of the Game - Peter; Once again, got body in the way. Played at: Fareena. Notable Absentees - James, Jacob, Graham, Matthew Couto, David. Best Shotblock/Save - Alex D., a stick save at the near post. Best Goal - Tommy, set up by Maciej. In a pattern that would continue throughout the day, Maciej flew past two defenders, holding the ball aloft on his backhand, before firing it over to a way too open Tommy. He did nae a thing but score. Nae a thing. Best Goalkeeper - Alex D., though Peter showed promise. Best Deke - Pat's workmanlike deking/kicking past three defenders. It may not have been pretty, but damn was it effective. Best Pass - Maciej to Rob, who picked the pass up and missed yet another shot. Biggest 'Robbie' - Alex D., sky highing a shot from right in front of the net. When I mean sky high, I mean that literally. He took the ball, and shot it straight up. Not in a diagonal way, yet straight fookin' up. Yikes. Biggest 'Jacob' - Peter. He pulled at least 30 Jacobs, always by coming from behind his net and clearing it out of the rink. Best Fashion Sense - Maciej; Chicago 'Hawks jersey makes the cake. Worst Fashion Sense - Neil; Took the hat off and lost almost all his jazz. Bogus Moment - Although Alex D's losing of his shoe was gold, Tommy's wierd falls were a sight to behold. Indeed. Notable Watchers - Dumb and Dumber -- you figure out who is who. Ratings (4 lowest, 10 highest) - Peter - 7; Got the ball in the corners and fired it out. Dot com. Tommy - 10; When you score as much as he did, it's legendary. Robbie - 5.5; Terrible in front of the net. Neil - 7.5; Played well in destruction, but passing was off. Patrick - 7; Got forward a lot, with mixed effectiveness. Alex D. - 6.5; Had a good diagonal run here and there. Maciej - 6.5; Did his jobar well, but lacked the usual flair. Chloe - 5.5; Not entirely useless. Moyra - 4; Enough said. |
