Tagline - "Sunday night football" Teams: Robbie, Neil, Graham, Matthew S., Tobi, Corenton, Jamar, Jason, Sierra, and Dylan vs. Maciej, James, Tommy, Jacob, Patrick, Davey, Dominik and Peter. Score: a 17-12 debacle for Mac's purps. Game Rating (out of 10): 10 - Offense, defence, comedy. It had it all. Notable absentees: Jordan (concussion), Taylor, Ezra (hockey), Alex (boat shopping), Josh. Offensive Player of the Game: James - Looked stellar when he got the ball early. Defensive Player of the Game: Peter - Fantastic effort and results. Special Teams Player of the Game: Peter. This is his domain. Pitch and Weather: Cold, but not painfully so. The rain held up, and random orange hockey balls littered the field. Summary: In what promises to be a tradition of sorts, the Sunday night football game on this night was one to remember. Although the purps took an early lead thanks to fantastic receiving efforts, Rob's greens made a spirited effort, thanks primarily to the efforts provided by the foreign invasion of Tobi and Correnton. However, the purps held off the late challenge and finished the game when cries of "Rabee dinner" filled the chilly Fern'ish air. Bogus Moment of the Day - The lateral fest that resulted in almost 50 yards lost. First Matt inexplicably passed it to Correnton, who whipped it to Tobi, who doubled back and whipped it back to Correnton. Peter ended the display (or debacle) with a well timed faceplant/defensive stop. As Dylan said so eloquently, "Yeah, that worked really well." Player Ratings (out of 10, 4 being the lowest):
Robbie - 6; Struggled all night long, despite decent numbers in the end. Maciej - 7.5; Rough middle, but found his element near the end. Patrick - 9; Juked and janked his way to incredible yards after the catch. Neil - 8; Late barrage salvaged a dissappointing start. Peter - 10; Phenomenal! One only wonders how long he can maintain this kind of form. Tommy - 9; Stuck to his man as per requested, and fired in 3 touchdowns. Tobi - 6; Dropped a lot of passes in the end zone. Jamar - 6; Added 2 touchdowns on a pretty average debut. Davey - 7; Good return to the FFL. Looked the part. James - 9; Shook off early inconsistencies and became the go-to guy. Jacob - 8.5; Defensively incredible, and offerred good secondary scoring. Jason - 6; Not a bad debut for the blonde hero. Matthew S. - 8.5; Worked hard for all of his points. Graham - 5.5; Is he the replacement for Moyra's legend? Dominik - 9; Came in and did what he does best: run the hell out of the ball. Correnton - 6.5; Got very little service from his QB. Dylan - 7.5; Boasts one hell of an arm, and showed it today. Sierra - 5; Came and went without more than a peep. |
