Teams: Lenny, Alex D., Graham, Danielle, Maciej, Tommy and James vs. Jacob, Robbie, Patrick, Matthew Couto, Moyra and Peter. Score: A gold win, Jacob's first, 11-9. Game Rating (out of 10): 9 - Despite there being Moyra, it was a good game. Notable absentees: Matthew Soegtrop, Owen, Dylan, Cody, David Offensive Player of the Game: Alex D.. 5 touchdowns, and some incredible "look what I found" catches worthy of Traffalex status. Defensive Player of the Game: Peter. Tough tackling Peter -- yes, I said tackling -- played one hell of a defensive game. Managed 1 interception as well and numerous defensive stops. Special Teams Player of the Game: Patrick. Despite not scoring off the kickoffs, he did manage several kickoff runs worthy of a special teams award. Always got solid yardage and blocked well whenever someone else got the ball. Pitch and Weather: Same weather as the previous day, but nonetheless a good game. Kinda windy chills, but many did not wear coats. At one point Maciej was asked if he was cold. Nay, he was not for three layers were worn. The middle of the pitch continued to be muddy, but not as slippery as before. Summary: The golds took the lead early on with a 6-0 seemingly insurmountable. Robbie was on fire, throwing passing TDs to Patrick like it was nobody's business. James complained a lot early on, "how in the hell are we going to come back?" Maciej remained arrogant and cocky, "nay a worry, my pal, nay a worry." The reds did in fact come back, with Maciej getting in the groove with TD passes to Danielle, James and Alex D. However, as the game wore on and James left for kicking class, the reds simply ran out of luck. Peter highlighted the end of the game with an incredible smash-into-the-fenced-tree kickoff touchdown, and Patrick ended it with a nice grab from a Robo toss. Bogus Moment of the Day - Tommy's collision with Alex D. Tommy, desperate for a touchdown grab, jumped expertly into the air and snagged the ball beautifully. However, a miscommunication with Alex D. led to the same player jumping for the ball and Tommy landing awkwardly on the ground. He did manage to get up and shake off his numerous injuries however. Player Ratings (out of 10, 4 being the lowest):
Robbie - 9; Looked sharp the majority of the time. Decided not to throw in the direction of interception king Maciej and wisely so. Looks to have his touchdown chemistry with Patrick back. Moyra - 7; Moyra's best game yet. Managed to be a lot less annoying and scored a touchdown. Patrick - 9; 4 touchdowns and numerous catches. However, had a rough middle patch where he was covered more than adequately by Alex D. Was great on special teams. Maciej - 6; Was a shadow of himself today, as he threw a lot of picks, and candled wicks. The orange hat was a brilliant distraction however, in all its majesty and frew. Hmm, quite. Tommy - 8; Despite not scoring for the second consecutive game, Tommy showed serious defensive prowess and heart. Was a beast on running plays, with a few solid handoff runs. Jacob - 7.5; Wasn't as good as he probably should have been. Didn't get much service from Robbie, as the QB usually went to his preferred targets of Couto and Patrick. James - 7.5; Had a very poor start, with mahoney ways getting the better of the shaggy dude. However, he shook it off and buckled down and played well (3 tds) before his leavance. Lenny- 8; By far, Lenward's best game ever. Scored 3 touchdowns, had one key interception and get this, only 2 mahoneys! 2! Yeah, I don't believe it either, but Lenny showed some serious skill. Danielle - 7.5; Shook off early rusty play and became a key receiver for Maciej until she had to leave. Had a good rivalvry going with fellow, "hey you isn't guy" Moyra. Matthew Couto - 7; Not at his usual best; head in the clouds or sanch like such. Even on off day, managed 2 receiving scores and drew attention from the opposing defence like a hack. Graham - 6.5; Continues to be a solid chooser of schools. Was positively giddy for being let out really really early. Did have one good kickoff run, deking out Peter and Pat. Alex D. - 9; Is the master of the wierd looking catch. Had a few of those today, to go along with his 5 touchdown performance. Was great on defence as well, shutting down Pat in the 2nd half. Peter - 9; Despite slipping more than an old lady with shopping bag skates, Peter had a great game on all ends. Reminds one of an earlier version of James; look for him to develop into a star. |
