| FFL Recap - Thursday October 13, 2005 Participants - Robbie, Maciej, Patrick, Tommy, Jacob and Graham. Offensive Player of the Game - Maciej; Although the game was darker than what resides in an Ecuadorian chefs hat, Maciej managed to deke like his name was France and he was invited for dinner. Scored numerous times and was a setup machine. Defensive Player of the Game - Patrick; despite hunching like Quasimodo, Patrick was an incredible defensive force throughout the game. Stopped Maciej with a wonderful pokecheck. Best Shotblock - Maciej taking a snap shot from Graham square in the solar plexis. Best Goal - The play started with maestro Mac, who deked past a pesky Graham and dropped a beautiful no look pass to Tommy, who fired a shot in from the point. Best Deke - Maciej's under the stick and through the legs shredding of both Graham and Patrick respectively. Best Pass - Tommy's cross crease pass to Maciej, who fired it in from about 2 inches out. Best Fashion Sense - Graham wearing a Nirvana tee shirt. Worst Fashion Sense - Graham wearing checkerboard shoes. Bogus Moment - Talking Mary's. Seriously, the likes of Graham and Robbie talk more than a bunch of ladied hots. Later they got game in them, but at first, yak. Ratings - Tommy - 7.5; Not as good as he was previously, as he missed more opportunities than a Japanese teabag. Still solid in passes and forechecking. Robbie - 7.5; The worst stick in the world is on its last, um, blade-age. Robbie seems to quaint a froo when alone in front of the net. Most awkward stickhandling ever, but somehow it works. Graham - 8; Ran around a lot, and gave the likes of Maciej and Jacob sheer hell. Has inventive fashion sense and is a good chooser of schools. Maciej - 8.5; Was better than most nights, good passing. Patrick - 9.5; Although he still enjoys wizards and Harry Potter novels, Patrick is one hell of a hockey player. A true defensive dynamo with a flair for getting forward and making plays happen. Superb pokecheck on Maciej. Jacob - 9; Although he came a bit later than most, was pretty damn good. Managed to steal the ball a lot and developed a Bryan McCabe type pokecheck that frustrated opponents consistently. Scored a lot. |
