Offensive Player of the Game: Jordan. Stayed with it.
Defensive Player of the Game: David. Excellent coverage.
Special Teams Player of the Game: Peter. 2 kickoff touchdowns.
Pitch and Weather: Same as the day before, with the weather a little bit nicer. Football was seen a little bit better with introduction of glow tape. However, no amount of glow tape could make up for the lack of friction on the field; mud, slippery at that, remained prevalent.
Summary: It all started with Robbie picking a terrible squad to start with, and then throwing an interception. Great start for Pat's "not quite black but too dark to be grey" squad. After a quick trade of David for Matt, the game evened out a tad as Peter picked up the slack for his squad with crunching stops and nice kickoff runs. However, it was Jordan's day. He intercepted Robbie three times, threw 8 passing touchdowns and ended the game with a nice reception of his own. Class above.
Bogus Moment of the Day - The addition of the glow tape had its moment, but how about Pete's destruction of Josh on his second kickoff return! Peter walked up to the ball, crouched on by Josh, and shoved him about 2 metres into the air. Josh landed with a thud, and Peter picked up the ball and ran like a man possessed.
Player Ratings (out of 10, 4 being the lowest):
Robbie - 4; Awful. And that's being kind. Ol' pidgeon arm had nothing going for him.
Patrick - 7; Made a few receptions here and there. Solid defence, effort all around.
Maciej - 8.5; 3 touchdowns, including one where he absolutely schooled big Dave.
Josh - 7; Good but not great. Brought his dog, one of much possessiveness over yellow ball.
David - 8.5; The best on the underachieving "not quite black" squad.
Neil - 7; Caught everything thrown at him. Never stopped running.
Chloe - 6; 1 touchdown, but not much else. Talked about Maciej with Robbie, which was wierd.
Tommy - 6; Somewhere beyond the sea for the most part.
Peter - 8; Not as offensively dangerous today. Plays the game with a chip on his shoulder.
Jordan - 9.5; Would've been perfect, if not for that one interception by Peter. Great show!
Graham - 6; No contribution as he showed up late.
Matthew S. - 8; Excellent catch in the endzone for his first TD. Looked good throughout.
