Tuesday November 1st
Teams: Matthew Soegtrop, Davey (not Leaver), Tommy, Maciej, James, Graham, and Lenny vs. Peter, Owen, Alex D., Patrick, Robbie, Jacob and Paul.
Score: An 8-8 tie.
Game Rating (out of 10): 8 - Short but very good football on display.
Notable absentees:  Danielle, Matthew Couto, Cody, Dylan.
Offensive Player of the Game: Robbie. Had 5 touchdowns in the air, plus one super handoff TD run on a token Jacob play.  Or at the very least, a very lucky Jacob play.
Defensive Player of the Game
: Lenny.  No not a misprint, Lenny was the best defensive player.  Took the heavy burden of covering the dangerous Alex D. and thrived with several key defensive stops.  Put his hands in the air like he simply didn't care.
Special Teams Player of the Game
: Patrick.  Showed some serious deking ability, schooling the likes of Tommy and Davey like his business was overdue for a stamp.  1 kickoff touchdown.
Pitch and Weather
: Gettin' colder 'side.  Much colder nowadays.  A few guys were hammering the side of the Fern fence like they paid by a construction company or something.  Maybe they were, hmmm?
Summary
:  This game was the battle of quarterbacks Maciej and Robbie.  Maciej, blessed with his two favourite receivers James and mini Soegtrop, ran up and down the scrimmage and tossed super passes to not only them but the underrated types of Lenny and Davey.  Robbie on the other hand was blessed with 3 of the top 4 FFL scorers in Jacob, Alex D., and Patrick and used them quite wisely.  The game ended on a Peter handoff run, but before that there were many a bumps and bruises involving said guy.  Ask Maciej.
Bogus Moment of the Day
- A really solid football game, with little mahoneys and a high skill level meant few wierd or stupid plays.  But if one had to be a choosing bastard and pick one, said person would probably choose Peter's cement skating.  What style, what poise!
Player Ratings (out of 10, 4 being the lowest)
:
Robbie
- 9.5; Threw only one interception, and that was a fluke and a half, to his brother.  Looks to be regaining his late season confidence.
Davey
- 7.5; Not to be mistaken with big Davey, brother of Tommy, Davey had his first game in a while in the FFL and played quite well.  Made great catches and played ample D.  1 touchdown.
Patrick
- 8.5; 2 touchdowns early on, but faded down the stretch a bit.  Was hampered by solid defence from mini Matt.  Was excellent on special teams throughout.
Maciej
- 9.5; Despite cringing that he hurt, "My Hammy, my fucking Hammy," Maciej was jobar good today.  And that's freakin' good.
Tommy
- 8.5; Hey ho, Tommy scored a beauty today, off a handoff.  Played great defence on both Owen and Robbie and was caught only once out of position.  Hand of Tom no appearances.
Jacob
- 8; Ran a lot, caused problems for the defence, but in general was second on the peckin' order on Robbie's receiving list.  2 receiving touchdowns.
James
- 8.5; Always plays much better on Maciej's team.  Played good defence against Peter, and is probably the only one who isn't scared shitless of the guy.  Was Ringo Starr for Hallows Eve.
Lenny
- 10; The curse of the hairy dude is gone!  Lenny cut his hair and played brilliantly, making several key catches and making incredible defensive plays.  No longer looks like Harry Potter.
Matthew Soegtrop
- 7.5; Played well early on, but then began to fade.  Still a clutch receiver.  1 interception.
Paul
- 7; First game in a while for the lumbering low rider, but he did manage to make a few grabs.
Graham
- 7; Had all of two plays, but did well on them.  Ran up and then sideways.
Alex D
. - 7; Looked jaded, but did contribute with a touchdown.  Highlight of the day was taking Pat's hat, and that was after the game was over.
Peter -
8; Crazy freakin' hustle from Peter Pumpkin.  Got to love his combo of tenacity and skill.  Couple that with an awesome hallows eve costume and you've got a pretty decent fella.
Owen - 7; Called himself a gimp at one time I think.  Was solid on defensive coverage.
