Teams: A few mixups, again (argh!) but generally it was Danielle, Alex D., Maciej, Tommy, James, Kyle, and Zack vs. Robbie, Patrick, Matt C., Matt S., Moyra, Maddie, Chloe, and Sierra. Graham, Spencer, Davey and Dominic were here and t'other. Score: 8-5 for Danielle's blues. Game Rating (out of 10): 4 - despite the awesome turnout, there was way too much going on outside of the game parameters. A lot of the FFL players decided that they would place for only a few minutes, and then disappear, or others simply were disinterested. Notable absentees: Owen, Dylan, and Lenny. Offensive Player of the Game: Robbie. Whenever he threw the ball, the greens had a shot to win the game. When he vanquished the spot to lesser likes, the greens suffered largely. Defensive Player of the Game: Maciej. Four interceptions and massive coverage on the ever dangerous Pit Pat namesake. Special Teams Player of the Game: Maciej/James. Both were instrumental in kickoffs, on both the offensive and defensive aspects of special teams. Pitch and Weather: Gorgeous evening wasted, and guess what, an audience! Too bad they came out to see a bunch of littled childrens run around in circles. The real drama is on the field, ho! Summary: It was blues from start to finish. The greens never held the lead, nor did they look dangerous enough at any time to real threaten the status quo. The blues had little to no offense going early on, and relied heavily on Maciej's interceptions and solid defensive coverage. On one play, a frustrated Matthew Couto had absolutely no body to throw to, despite a plethora of receivers. The reason was super-terrific coverage by everyone on the blues, an absolutely amazing display. As the game wore on, the blues offense hit its stride with Alex D., Zack, and Danielle all scoring in the end zone. The hapless greens only bright spots were the duo of Patrick and Robbie, who continue to show promising skill and excellent football awareness. Bogus Moment of the Day - Graham: "Wow...that was a great throw...OH LOOK A DOGGIE!" Yes Graham, indeed. A blasted dog was more interesting to watch then this game. Player Ratings (out of 10, 4 being the lowest):
Danielle- 8; Started off slowly, but picked up steam as the game went on. Never packed it in, and was always an option for QB Mac. Scored one TD but on another day would have had more. Robbie - 8; Robbie should always QB for his team. It's as simple as that. Once he asserts himself as the QB for a team, the chances of winning greatly increase. Patrick - 8; Despite his team in shambles for almost the entire game, he tried in vain to rally his troops to a comeback with a few superb catches, one leading to a cutted bleeed. Matthew Soegtrop - 7; Maybe he was thinking about his relay practices, but Matt simply mahoneyed way too much. Still found the open more than a few times but no TDs. Maciej - 8; His early 4 interceptions were well received, but slowed down late in the game. Davey - 6; Was in the game for all of 5 minutes and never even got a sniff of the ball. Graham - 7.5; Ran his ass off, and made people laugh, but the score was already set. Tommy- 7.5; Should be called "monstro" after the majestic sperm whale from Pinocchio. Why? Because he played like a pissed off sperm whale on defense. That's good by the way. James - 7; Rolled his ankle midway through the game, and sweated like a pigged oldie. But did he sway from the game? Never. James gives it his all, and would continue to do so with only 1 leg. Sierra - 4; Highlight of the day: skateboarding. Maddie - 6; May have scored twice, but was disinterested. Coasted like her name was Coastee. Alex D. - 8; Powerful Alex or Crystalgrowth as he prefers not to be called, was unlucky not to score more than 2 tds. On his second catch, he banged his noggin and had to sit out. Moyra - 4; Did anyone else notice that she came and left at least 5 times during the game? Matthew Couto - 6; Has a lot of talent, but needs to overcome his propensity to be a goofball around the ladies. A lot better than his performance today. Zeros across the board. Kyle - 7; Defended well and made a few catches, but wasn't overly spectacular in either case. Zack - 7; Got 3 passes, and caught all 3, including a nice TD snag. Solid FFL debut. Spencer - 5; Was in the game all of 3 plays. Chloe - 6; She got a pass and she caught it. But then again, is that really so special? Meh Dominic - 7; Played a few plays, and scored. The greens really could have used his speed. |
