| Game Recap - FHL - May 16, 2008 Participants - Team 1 - Ezra, Patrick, Robbie - won 6 games Team 2 - Peter, Neil, Simon, Maciej - won 4 games Team 3 - Josh, Cole, Alex, Dylan - won 3 games Goalies - Jordan D., Taylor Played at - Gareena, home of the ever receding dirt pile. Offensive Player of the Game - Ezra - rejuvenated and it shows. Defensive Player of the Game - Peter - kept his crease clear. Best Shotblock/Save - Jordan D., absolutely stoning Alex on a sweet stretch save. He loved it. Alex didn't. That's hockey for you. Best Goal - Maciej, a fluke if there ever was one. After taking a slap shot, Maciej's shot took a wicked deflection off of Cole's stick, went about 30 feet in the air and dropped onto Taylor's' back and into the net. I'll take it. Best Goalkeeper - Jordan D. over Taylor. The enormous Italian played a fantastic game in net, looking ever the confident one, even after letting in the odd garbage goal. Best Deke - Dylan around Maciej. That just hurt, it did. Best Pass - Peter, a flick pass to a pinching Simon. Unfortunately, the sure-fire goal flew by. But what a sweet over the stick pass from the man with no neck. Biggest 'Robbie' - Simon, firing a shot off the crossbar from about 1 meter out. I don't even know you could lift the ball that high from that close. Biggest 'Neil' - Peter, who made up for it by grabbing the ball before anyone could shake a fist in anger. Best Fashion Sense - Jordan D. - good lookin' goalies are hard to find. Worst Fashion Sense - Neil - who does his shopping? A mole wearing sunglasses? The James Moment - Where the hell did Josh disappear to exactly? Ratings (4 lowest, 10 highest) - Jordan - 9.5; Excellent goaltending. Doesn't let soft goals faze him for long. Patrick - 7.5; First game out in a while, and he was decent enough. Maciej - 6.5; Struggled on offence, but got his stick in the way on defence. Taylor - 7.5; His highs were ridiculously high, but the lows were painful to watch. Neil - 7.5; Consistent on the forecheck and backcheck. Robbie - 7.5; Lethal in front of the net. Alex Jarzy - 9; Starting to come into his own. Peter - 8.5; Great leadership. Pinched in with a few timely goals. Simon - 6.5; A lethal shot translated into a few goals. Decent debut. Josh - 6; Here one minute, gone the next. When he was here, he did little. Dylan - 8; Started to stickhandle his way out and into trouble. Good work nonetheless. Cole - 8; Fast as hell. He may just rival Neil one day. Ezra - 9; I've said it before; he's got a lot of talent. But how long will it last? |
