Game Recap - FHL - March 30, 2008

Participants -
Players - Maciej, Jordan, Matthew C., Cole, Matthew P.
Goalies - Patrick, Taylor
Played at - Gareena, home of the slushy corners.
Offensive Player of the Game - Maciej - wrist shot found the net.
Defensive Player of the Game - Maciej - ran around like Dominic Moore.
Best Shotblock/Save - Patrick, diving (literally) to his left to deny a knuckler through a crowd.  Someone has to teach this guy how to make a simple pad save.
Best Goal - Cole, setting up a clinic and firing in a wicked looking wrister from a bad angle into the far corner, over Patrick.
Best Goalkeeper - Patrick over Taylor.  Its unorthodox, but man, Pat's style works wonders.
Best Deke - Maciej, nutmegging Prior in a number of ways, the best being a backhanded flip between the legs that had the Humberside hack saying, "Huh?"
Best Pass
- Jordan, a floater, that Maciej deflected just wide of the net.
Biggest 'Robbie' - Matthew C., again proving that despite his talent he has hands of stone in front of the net.  This time he fired it thirty meters wide of an open net.
Biggest 'Neil' - Matthew Pryor, wiring a wicked clearance a la Ganno under the fence.
Best Fashion Sense - Taylor - he stayed dry.
Worst Fashion Sense
- Patrick - he didn't.
The James Moment
- Jordan's slip and fall on a patch of black ice.  Wind him up, step back and watch him go!
Ratings
(4 lowest, 10 highest) -
Cole - 8; Clinical finishing in front of the net.
Jordan - 7.5; Struggled after nasty fall.
Patrick - 8; Classy goaltending, but not a classy style.
Maciej - 9.5; Continues to dominate, like an AHL allstar.
Matthew P. - 8; "He's like Neil, but with skill"
Taylor - 7.5; Good, but not great in all aspects.
Matthew C. - 8; Took over the reigns when his team needed him.  Sloppy finishing.
