Teams: Robbie, Patrick, Jacob, Alex, Peter and Graham vs. Maciej, Matthew S., Patrick, Jordan and Neil. Score: a 14-12 win for Mac's violent violets. Game Rating (out of 10): 9 - would've been perfect if not for the mud. Turnout - 11; high skill, with Alex and Graham making triumphant returns. Notable absentees: Ezra, James, Jordan T., David, Matthew C. Offensive Player of the Game: Patrick. Outdueled the Captain. Defensive Player of the Game: Neil. Clutch performer. Special Teams Player of the Game: Alex. Got something out of nothing. Pitch and Weather: That muddy middle is never going away. Didn't help that it rained all morning. Summary: Another good game, with a later start time. With the warming times around the corner, 6:30 seems to be the magic hour nowadays. Mac's purps got off to a great start, with Pat making a few beautiful snags. However, the team got complacent and allowed Rob's stinky pinky's to get into the game, with General Gruesome making two worldclass catches over the tight defense of Maciej. However, Maciej shook off the plays and put his squad on his shoulders and fired them into the endzone with a few solid runs and one touchdown catch over 3 defenders. The game ended when Pat caught his fifth TD; not bad for a guy picked behind 5 others. Bogus Moment of the Day - Jordan showing his poppins on camera. Sheer class right there. Player Ratings (out of 10, 4 being the lowest):
Robbie - 8; Good for the most part, but didn't have that clutch throw in his arsenal. Maciej - 8.5; Provides leadership as well as the best flair seen on this side of the tracks in years. Patrick - 9; Starting to catch the impossible throw. Caught one against his knee today. Neil - 9.5; A defensive monster. Got back to bail out his team...at least thirty times. Jacob - 9; Some of his catches were unbelievable. However, was burned by Jordan on defense. Graham - 7.5; Scored twice, and didn't look out of place at all. Tommy - 7; Wasn't quite at his Hand of Tom best. Scored late in the game. Peter - 7; Had an off game on offense, but got all of one pass from the Robster. Jordan D. - 8; Showed a full bag of tricks, including a tough jumping grab for his first TD. Matthew S. - 7; Developed a cramp that hampered his defense. Fought hard. Alex - 9.5; Scored three times, played tough defence, ran the ball like a monster. Game-changer. |
