Teams: Maciej, Peter, Patrick, Dylan and Thomas vs. Robbie, Luke, Neil, Matthew C., and Taylor.. Score - a 7-6 win for the greens.
The greens fought hard to beat the reds 7-6 on a rainy Tuesday afternoon. "It was an ugly game for sure," team captain Robbie said. "But a win is a win." The game started off at a high pace, and didn't let up until the end almost an hour and a half later. Players stepped on defence, with QB's under constant pressure. "I have like two seconds to throw," green captain Maciej said. "Like two secs and a banana." Injuries were also commonplace. On a play of legends, Free Safety Patrick dove to stop a rushing QB Robbie and smashed his knee into a chunk of ice. "(gurgle)", Patrick said. Players fought not only each other, but the downpour of hail, rain and sleet, with no one being spared. Dylan and Luke, both of whom are decidedly anti-coat, looked the worst of the bunch. "I'd eat a baby if I could go home now," Dylan said. Added Luke, who had a monster game on the tackle. "(gurgle) (spit) I'm big."
Bogus moment - This was arguably the most intense game ever played. Not an inch was given either way.
Offensive P.O.G - Matthew C. - he's dominant when he wants to be. Defensive P.O.G - Thomas - what a comeback game. 2 INTs, 3 sacks. Spec Teams P.O.G - Luke - excellent blocks for his teammates.
Ratings Robbie - 9.5; Despite the added pressure on the blitz, he controlled himself exceptionally well. Maciej - 8; Very good at times, but too many costly turnovers. Patrick - 9; Great footwork on the patchy field. Peter - 9; Peeled off from the block, and had a great offensive game. Luke - 9; One of the best games he's ever played. Excellent rushing. Taylor - 8.5; Got through to pressure the QB. 2 sacks. Thomas - 10; He stepped up when his team needed him. Great clutch performance. Dylan - 8.5; Struggled on the offensive line, but great pressure on QB Rob. Matthew C. - 10; He's got that touch of class that wins games. Incredible talent. Neil - 9; Put a lot of effort as usual. A great runner, who limited the QB rush. |
