| FHL Recap - Tues. Mar. 21, '06 Participants - David, Maciej, Patrick, Robbie, James, Tommy, Graham and Jacob. Offensive Player of the Game - Graham; Defined the "sniper" Defensive Player of the Game - David; Solid point man. Played at: Fareena. Best Shotblock - Maciej, swatting a James' shot out of nowhere with his glove. Best Goaltender - No one donned the pads per se, but more than a few stood in the net. David was by far the best, coming up with a few key poke checks here and there. Best Goal - Rob, stretching as far as his Corporalish hands would take him, to tap in a Maciej pass from a near impossible angle. Gorgeous! Best Deke - Graham. Cutting across from the right, he juked enough with the ball to elude two sticks and narrowly miss firing it into the net. Class. Best Pass - Maciej, a behind the back no look pass that found Graham entirely wide open in front of the yawning cage. Biggest Whiff - James, firing it over the net from 1 metre out. Ouch. Best Fashion Sense - Maciej. No competition to be honest. Worst Fashion Sense - Graham, enough with the shoes already. Bogus Moment - The breaking of James' infamous red stick. Capn' Ugly was insistent on playing onwards, despite possible impalings. Notable Watchers - Some daycare kids. Ratings (4 lowest, 10 highest) - Tommy - 6.5; Played the 'd' well, but hustle on the forecheck was gone. Robbie - 9; Determined Rob was a beast up the side of the rink. Was good at holding the ball away from the opposition and fired more than a few in. Maciej - 6; Lethargic play, not enough soup? May quite. Patrick - 6; Off the pace. Needs to wear running shoes. James - 7; Had a nice turnaround goal, and played passes off the boards well. Left early for his date with Jake. David - 7; Stood at the point like a McCabe clone, and fired them balls in. Graham - 10; Excellent. Fired every shot in and made key passes. |
