FHL Recap - Sun. Mar. 19, '06

Participants - Maciej, Robbie, Patrick, James, David, Tommy, Alex D., Nicholas, Alex (another one), Justin, and Mitchell plus about 10 others I didn't catch the names of.
Offensive Player of the Game - Maciej; A consistent shot.
Defensive Player of the Game - David; Big bad scary Dave!
Played at: Gareena.
Best Shotblock - Maciej, doing the turtle when a guy named Nick came up to fire a shot on goaltender Alex D.
Best Goaltender - of the 5 who donned the pads on this day, the best was Alex D.  Maciej flopped around a bit too much, David played too deep in his net, Justin wandered like a Belfour clone and Patrick looked lost in there.  Alex D. on the other hand was solid, as was evident by the incredible kick save on mini-Nick to keep the game close.
Best Goal - Maciej, cutting through the 'd', pulling off a spinorama and gently timing his shot to roof past the solid keeper.
Best Deke - Robbie.  Yes, not a typo.  Early on in the game, he pulled a move on Tommy that was unparalled.  Put it between his legs and then came up with a decent looking hold off on Lieutenant Eyebrow to keep hold of the ball.
Best Pass
- James to Mitchell, playing a sweet give and go with the sniper and setting him ideally for a nice goal.
Biggest Whiff - Alex D., who pulled a Robbie when he failed to capitalize alone in front of the net on David.  What a typical Robbie miss!
Best Fashion Sense
- David, took his cell off to keep the scratches down.
Worst Fashion Sens
e - Mitchell, badly copying Rob's red hat ways.
Bogus Moment
- Tommy sitting at the side of the net.  No one knows how in the hell he got there.
Notable Watchers - A lot.  A lot played too.
Ratings (4 lowest, 10 highest) -
Tommy - 8; Kept up the pressure on 'd' and found a good niche as a pest.  Dug the ball out and moved it up to the speedier forwards well.
Robbie - 5.5; Corporal Anglestand is back boys.  Outside of a few decent dekes and rushes, he did little to nothing outside of standing at an angle at the side of the net awaiting the pass that was never to come.  Yay.
Maciej - 7; Had that good dekey run, but was inconsistent as keeper.
Patrick - 7; Adamant in the corners, but decision making seems to be at a standstill.  Needs to ignore the complaints and drive to the net more.  Has a good shot but needs to use it.
James - 6.5; Stood in one place most of the time and complained a lot.  Seemed to making up for the lack of Capn' Ugly, and shot looked weak.  Must learn how and when to pass to be truly effective.  Nobar.
David - 7.5; Didn't destroy many people and had some smart plays.  Passing was better and scored a nice goal from way out.
Alex D. - 8; Was the best keeper at the Gareena today.  Can't be blamed for many of the goals he let in and shows good reflex saves.
Mitchell - 6; A one dimensional player with a good shot but not much else.
Nicholas - 9; Once this guy puts on some pounds and height, he'll be truly special.  Has ridiculous hockey smarts and talent to boot.
Alex - 8; Unselfish player with good hockey skills.  Did what was needed.
Justin - 7.5; Is a good goaltender, but wanderlust a concern and a half.
