FHL Recap - Wed., Mar. 16, '06

Participants - Patrick, Daniel, Maciej, James, Jacob and Tommy.
Offensive Player of the Game - James; regained scoring touch.
Defensive Player of the Game - Jacob; serious hustle.
Played at: Gareena.
Best Shotblock - Maciej, getting his stick out to stone an open net effort from James.  Robbage!
Best Goal - James, shelving it in the toppest part of the left corner, through a crowd of defenders and a goalkeeper.  Classy.
Best Deke - Maciej, unravelling the hell out of Jacob with his patented cut inside move.  They may be repetitive, but they work incredibly well.
Best Pass
- Tommy to James, the latter finishing the move with a shot on goal.  Tape to tape pass, worthy of highligh reels.
Biggest Whiff - Maciej, this time couldn't finish a pass from Jacob.  Had the open net and instead of firing it in, pushed it past the far post.  Weak!
Best Fashion Sense
- Patrick, the snazzy orange never gets respect.
Worst Fashion Sens
e - James, didn't even bring a coat.  Sweatshirt?!
Bogus Moment
- Jacob's elbow on Tommy.  I've never seen Tommy more pissed; I'd be terrified Jake.  Terri-freakin'-fied.  Keep dem elbows down!
Notable Watchers - Some guy with kids.
Ratings (4 lowest, 10 highest) -
Tommy - 7; Played a good game and had some hustle.  But seemed to be on his "break"; tired after a few plays.  Had 2 worldclass passes.
Daniel - 7; Newbie Dan did well in his first ball hockey game.  Transferred well from the ice to cement, and boasts a pretty decent backhand.
Maciej - 5.5; Didn't get anything going on a consistent basis.  Nobar!
Patrick - 6.5; Coming off a nasty illness hampered him visibly.  Decision making went back to the pits after hitting heights in previous games.
James - 8.5; Second consecutive game where he played a starring role.  Has a quick wrister, which he got off more than once on this day.  Staying away from stickhandling as of late, and playing it safe.
Jacob - 8; Had his best FHL game by far, thanks in large part to having the right sided stick.  Enjoyed a few good runs down the side and added usual flair to defence.  Needs to pick his spots in the corners and avoid fouling.
