FHL Recap - Tues., June 26th, 2007

Participants - Ezra, Patrick, Neil and Jordan vs. James, Tommy, Matthew C., and Maciej.
Offensive Player of the Game - Matthew C.; some gorgeous goals.
Defensive Player of the Game - Patrick; last ditch bitch.
Best Goalkeeper - James, barely inching out an equally superb Ezra.  The only reason James wins is because his team won.  After a shaky start, he whipped out three world class glove saves that had one Italian shaking his mullet back and forth like grazing cattle.
Notable Absentees - Peter, Josh, Taylor, Jacob, Ben.
Best Shotblock/Save - James, whipping out a glove hand to deny a wicked wrist shot from Jordan.  McCaul made sure that he knew it too, with none too subtle cries of, "F*** yeah, I saved that bitch."
Best Goal - Matthew C. banking it off Ezra and into the net.  Guess the bank was open on Tuesday night.
Best Deke - Maciej, going seriously wide on Neil and then cutting in to undress the Irish pylon.
Best Pass
- Maciej, holding onto the ball in the crease, holding off an agressive Ezra pokecheck before slipping it under his pads to an awaiting (and totally open) Tommy.
Biggest 'Robbie' - Patrick.  A backhander that was, um, gay.
Biggest 'Jacob' - See above.  That one ended up on the street, guy.
Best Fashion Sense - Matthew C; good show for the Ponch of Pass.
Worst Fashion Sense
- Jordan; did his best Jacob impression.
The James Moment
- The heat times 10.  The game on the 12th had nothing on this babe.  It was plus 30 in the shade, nevermind the humidex.  Players found it hard to breathe, water was consumed, and sweat was expelled in buckets.  Nevertheless, it was arguably the best game of the entire FHL season.
Convo of the Day
-
Matthew C. - Moyra likes to take 20 minute showers.
Jordan - Oh yeah man, so do I.
Maciej - You have to!  You are fucking massive guy.
Jordan - (durp)
Notable Watchers - Skinnier than usual janitor, guy eating sandwiches on front lawn, woman with kid, some braves playing bball, people parking vans.
